yes u are right i found it a little later and playing it now :D But i think a projekt with more people and money can give an even better version, and i just love the warhammer games :))
but then again it will likely be some troy/egypt trash
They really REALLY dont like it. And they threatened modders income if they dare to use GW IPs. That is why you see significant reduction in modding and general content based on warhammer and 40k since summer 2021.
ANd that all together means, that project you have in mind have no real prospect to exist outside of small fanbase in completely unrelated product, so it goes below GW radar.
IP holders of LOTR(Tolkien) known for crash down on people violate theirs too.
But in 2021, when GW decidedt they want to squuse this market too and created Warhammer + they basically came to big creators and said "join us or we ruin you" and change terms so now EVEN IF modder DONT make money from warhammer mod, if they make money doing ANY mod, GW still reserve a right to sue them.
That spooked a lot of people, rightfully so, you can find plenty of threads and articles about it. It somewhat blew over, now that GW ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up their warhammer + especially, but those changes in license agreement are still there and that is the reason why we see less of warhammer third-party stuff since then. Only small modders and creators doing it like before, but those, who made a career out of modding, basically stopped to produce warhammer content altogether. With exceptions, ofc, but we talking generalities here.
TO my knowledge tolkien estate have not done such a thing. They are agressive wtih their IP protection, but they never thretened ALL modding income if you daring to do stuff for free in their IP.
