What Determines Clan Culture?
Apologies if this double-posts; my internet is sketchy and it decided to hang.

So up until yesterday I assumed that clan culture was determined by the clan leader. Either I'm wrong or I found a bug, but I want to see if anyone knows something I don't before I report it.

I make a Sturgian hero. She marries another Sturgian. My hero dies in battle, and I select her Sturgian husband as my new hero. He marries a Battanian. Then he dies in battle, and I select his Battanian wife as my new hero. Then, playing as a Battanian hero, I swear fealty to Caladog, take Dunglanys back from the Vlandians, and become the owner of Dunglanys. Except I'm getting the different owner culture loyalty penalty, even though I did all this as a Battanian.

The game considers me a Battanian insofar as I get the forest travel speed culture perk, but it doesn't consider my clan Battanian. The three possibilities I can come up with are:

1. Clan culture is static and never changes and I'll be Sturgian forever.
2. Clan culture is determined by the number of clan members with that culture. So for example, right now I have more Sturgian clan members than any other culture so my clan culture is Sturgian, but if I ended up with more Battanian clan members my clan culture would change to Battanian.
3. Bug.

Thoughts? Knowledge?

As far as I can tell, it is option 1.

Your starting character will always remain whatever culture you selected at the start. However your children's culture tends to be that of the mother, So if you marry a Battanian the kids will be Battanian e.t.c. Unless that changed in an update

Clan culture of some offspring is determined at moment of birth, so you can control it b saving just prior to birth and reloading if you do not get what you want.

Unfortunately, I have never been able to get this to work with main character. Just with other family members. These follow the player.

Clan culture is set by your choice when you start the game regardless if clan leader end up be of some other culture at some point in your playthrough.
