How to leave a kingdom, but keep fiefs

Googling it come sup with nothing, so does anyone know how?

Click the Leave Kingdom button. You should get a popup asking if you are keeping your fiefs. Keep them.

Not an option, it just leaves the kingdom. no popup.

You don't get to do that. That's not how being a vassal works. Their may be a mod, but it's not how it works in vanilla.

Can't you do it by talk to the actual faction leader? I mean, leave with your fiefs.

Googling comes up with the devs saying that it´s a bug currently and that they´re working on it. Post was from January - but given the speed of the devs i guess it´ll be fixed in February 2026, if ever...

bro the ai just did that to me, a clan switched from battania to aserai and took 3 cities and like 5 castles and now im cooked

Well you used to just "Leave Kingdom" and you had an option to keep your fiefs and be at war. I havent gotten that far in my current game to confirm this, but i guess its broken from what ive heard.

I did just test it and it works just as it should. You click on "Leave Kingdom" and your options are "Keep all holdings" and "Relinquish all holdings."

Click on "Keep all holdings" and you keep your ♥♥♥♥ but you end up at war with the kingdom you left. But you can buy your way out of it by talking to any lord from that kingdom.

Click on "Relinquish all holdings" and you lose all your ♥♥♥♥, but no war.

Either way, you take a huge reputation hit.

Works fine, and I have never seen it not do that. But I have not borked my game up with mods. No mods ever. Your mileage may vary.

(And for you gamers who think that 'wanna' and 'gonna' are words -- "relinquish" means "voluntarily cease to keep or claim; give up.")

Hmm, I dont actually think it was ever broken. If I recall it was just the conversation that made it appear that you would always loose your holdings.

But yes, as Clovis says. You can always leave the kingdom from the kingdom menu.

I don't think it was ever actually broken, either, unless by someone's mods. But I did not want to be so indelicate as to say that I think people just didn't know what the hell they were doing.
