How can I add more clans to my kingdom?

Hello, I need if someone can explain to me how I can extend the clan limit to my kingdom because I think I have already reached the limit because I can no longer add more clans to my kingdom.

40 clans is the limit, is that right? Hard-coded AFAIK. I think there maybe extra allowance for companion lords +10?

Are they refusing outright? How much money do you have? There are a couple of quiet factors involved in bargaining that is easily mistaken:

a)Conversations that fail are not actually permanent. The player can try again a month later.

b) If the player doesn't have enough denars, the AI lord will just outright say no.

I believe the cost rises with every successful conversion - but I'm not entirely sure this is relevant anymore after all the patches.
