This may as well be the last Mount & Blade
Let's face it. The game is lacking in creativity and imagination, or the devs are unwilling to do anymore. I don't understand, the community put out tons of suggestions and the devs haven't even bothered.

Not only that the multiplayer is terrible, Mount and blade warband had a more accessible and easy to use multiplayer, but even then it needed improvement. They should have never wasted their time on multiplayer and focused entirely on singleplayer. If they can only do so much they should have never even contemplated adding a multiplayer. All it did was waste everyone's time from the players to the devs.

The only thing they can do is leave the game to the modders and hope that they constantly update their mods when the devs add a tiny fix patch. I'm surprised that the devs just completely gave up on this game and had no spark of creativity or imagination. They can try to add in DLC, but the DLC shouldn't be lackluster like the game.

This might be the last mount and blade game especially with all the other medieval games releasing with far more inspiration and dedication. Good luck TW, i hope you guys can do something to pull your IP back into the game.

It is right, the entire game has been a disappointment.
Taleworlds has failed to deliver with this title. They have issued updates which sometimes send the game forwards and sometimes backwards.
At launch, we could customise different troop types into their own units. Can't do that anymore.
I had a squad of Ulfhednar which acted as shock troops to flank the front line and chop the enemy up - now they just mix in with the infantry and die to arrows LOL.
The diplomacy is terrible. It's like they didn't even try.

It just could have been a lot better in a lot of aspects tbf

Might be the last Mount and Blade (or it might not), but I highly doubt it's the last from TaleWorlds.

I haven't found any recent sales numbers, but as of a year and a half ago (still in EA), millions of copies of this game had been sold, and that number has no doubt increased. Critically, people have their complaints about it. Commercially, it's a success.

I'm sure we'll be seeing these systems and game types in future TW games, whether nor not Mount and Blade is stamped on the box.

This might be the last mount and blade game especially with all the other medieval games releasing[.i]

This is a good thing. I've seen a couple floating around that look fun, and I want more games like this. Force the competition to force the innovation to stay relevant. I want these other games to be good on their own merits, and not just compared to other games.

Doesn't really matter how may games get released in a medieval setting. Players will always start to moan and complain. "Why doesn't this game have x & y when that game have it"..

It's not about the midieval setting. It's about what this game does compared to other games. More games playing like this hopefully drives the competition to continue to improve and add more things in order to get our dollars.

i hope you are wrong, but at the same time i cant get myself to even start the game again.
it used to be alot of fun coming up with fun strategies how to win but prebattledeployment has broken the game for me.
i cant have an army of crossbowmen and archers, because i cant separate them.
i usually managed to keep my archers and other troops alive, so when the formation ran out of arrows i would move then to the infantry or empty formation so that respawning troops with full quivers spawn in formation where everyone has arrows.
try doing that now.
i cant split my cavalry into trash cavalry and elite troops, at least its now possible to assign the officers but i would rather give up on that ascpect if i would get back the option to assign troop formation numbers in party screen.
and then there is the character system, where i can decapitate 100000 foes with hits to the head but my skill wont raise above 75 because of "focus points".
the whole thing is anti fun.
and the workshops. there isnt a single person in mnb who bought it for the great economy system so why am i supposed to micromanage my workshops constantly to keep them somewhat profitable.
also stupid perks unlocking things that should be unlocked by default, like offering fiefs in barter. my character has to sell 100000 horses while having max focus in trade and intelligence to be able to offer a fief in barter? how does that make sense. he is born with the knowledge how to trade weapons, goods, knows how to build siege equipment, how to wield any weapon in the game, but yeah offering someone a workshop or a fief thats not possible, because someone thought it could be a perk and now its a perk.

my post is a rant i love mount and blade but i really dont want to play it in the state it is right now.

The only xbow you can't seperate, is the ones that doesn't have any shields. Create a ranged formation with a shield prefix, and one without, and you get archers and xbow in each their formation.

my archers also have shields
and how do you put vlandian knights and sturgian whatstheirname knights into separate formations?
i want my imperial infantry holding the middle while my sturgian infantry is on the flank. how do you split those?
please.
i know what i am talking about when i am saying its impossible to do. that change was terrible.

EDIT: also its not the only thing. look at the barter system. its completely obsolete. it has been put into the game but never finished. the slider for example it is completely useless, best thing to do is simply push auto offer button and then accept, because else you are gonna pay more. if you are trying to pay less than auto offer the accept button is greyed out. why is that even a thing.
death and inheritance. i have played the game for over a thousand hours over not than many play-troughs and i simply didnt die. ever it never happened, bannerlord difficulty.
smithing, instead of making us acquire rare materials from some special deeds like conquering towns, getting tribute from defeated faction or something like that its about clicking thousands of time to make charcoal, then smelt pogios and then craft the most ridiculous weapon that is useless except for decoration but super expensive for some reason.
i could go on.

I was one of the ones advocating for pre battle deployment for the simple fact that without it, they had to start the fight like 10 miles apart, and if your doing an infantry run youd have to run like 2 minutes every time you did a combat. 30 combat = hour wasted. very annoying. i think it made the game better, if you want to do a strategy, why not use the prebattle deployment?

this isn't an rts game its a freaking roleplaying game, if you want an rts game play an rts game. i never understood people trying to play mount and blade as an rts game, kind of sad to see it chopped off, but you guys are just wierd.

as someone who plays TDM as much as possible; you're right, multiplayer should be ignored. I'm glad its there but it's not worth resources
