In theory Bannerlord would be a wonderful platform for a Viking Conquest remake. But not in practice for two reasons. The first I have already discussed, but the second is that the current state of Bannerlord will probably not allow most mods to survive more than six weeks without an overhaul, and Taleworlds won't want to compensate a team brought in from the outside for such a long haul. The base game is much prettier and potentially more interesting than Warband, but just isn't stable: there are far too many crashes happening to too many people, some of whom (like myself) have never used mods in Bannerlord. If Taleworlds ever gets their act together, come back in a year or so and with the right team and a well-defined project I might even be willing to come out of retirement.
