Is there an easy way to remove horses?
So i'm deploying for an army battle and want to assign a companion to lead my infantry.

Apparently she can't because she's riding a horse.

ALL my effing companions have horses. Why the hell would I NOT put them on horses? Does she not have sufficient braincells to recognize that if I am assigning her to the infantry she should...I dunno...dismount? Then she could really blow my mind by immediately remounting after the battle.

Do I seriously have to exit the battle, enter the party menu, take away her horse and then start over? Is there a simpler way of doing this that I am neither intelligent enough nor gangsta enough to have noticed?

Select the unit that your companion leads, then press F5 (assuming that is still a key for Mount/Dismount for you and you didn't reassign it).

You can do it with every unit btw. If for some reason you want you cavalry or mounted archer go on foot, you can dismount them all as well.

As above.

As for the problem with assigning a companion as a captain. It does not matter whether he/she has a horse or not.

Most likely, you have accidentally selected more than one companion and this is why it will not allow you to place (them) as the captain. It happens to me from time to time.

Yes, just press ESC if you get stuck in prebatle.
