Keep in mind that it's an EA game. There could very well be some gear added especially for Lords when you are victorious in a battle. But, also keep in mind that if that was the case then "power creep" in terms of individual player capabilities would certainly start to be an issue.
Gear has generally been locked behind Character Level in Warband, aside from a few rare things and what's basically an extremely low chance at getting a "unique" drop. Warband focused much more on character level, skills and proficiencies, than specific gear once the player reached a certain level.
Bannerlord has a lot more gear than Warband did, though. You'll probably see the chance of getting unique/rare drops for certain Lords come into play later in development.

It is just game logic. Otherwise you could be a merc join a big battle capture a lord and execute them and have the best amour in the game within a week or two Weapons/Armour are one of the forms of progression in this game, this idea would circumvent it.
The Lootlord mod is fun but I wouldn't hold my breath for it featuring in vanilla.
But like someone above already said, there's a mod already that allows this.

I am aware of that mod, but using mods right now, when devs do their best to patch often (which is good of course) is not practical.
Personally I tend to agree I just don't see it as the direction they are going.Linking it back to warband I found the best 'class' of armour fairly early on (maybe midgame) it was only looking for the lordly/masterwork stuff that took up more money/time. So at my most optimistic I'd expect 'battered' quality equipment with reduced stats.
And if you're able to singlehandedly take down a powerful lord you deserve to access their gear, you personally fought for it after all.
