Which is more useful? From what I can tell, the top one helps with companion levels if your are stagnating and the bottom one helps level recruit troops.

The top one gives small xp to your hero's party every day. If you keep your companions in separate party then they won't get it.

The bottom one gives moderate XP to low rank troops. Rank 4 and above unit units won't get it, so it's good if you have a lot of low rank troops in your party. Don't think it helps that much late game, there will be more high rank units available for recruitment.

I think the low one is better. Rank 4 is already good enough, and they will survive usually pretty well to get to tiers 5 to 6. Later on you will have so big armies anyway, you will be just mass recruiting crap troops.

The xp boost for all version, is very very small, not worth I think.

But at current state of the game, I wouldn't even pick the perk, AI has troubles getting quality troops, so it gives you too big advantage I think.

But next beta patch should fix this (yey!).
