this means fixing the character development (perks, xp progression, etc), quashing the vast swathe of remaining bugs and crash issues, and fleshing out current content.
I hope they stay away from adding new things to the game until they resolve the current issues.
Balance isn't a thing when one faction already has the most heavily armoured cavalry unit.
It would probably be pretty simple, lol. A lot of warband mods have this feature. You could just have an editable inventory for each stage of a generic infantry/cav/archer tree with higher tiers of armor and weapon becoming usable at higher levels of the tree. You could balance the custom troops by having recruitment costs scale with the price of their gear.
Very simple.
Try going headsplash into triple the infantry numbers in realistic difficulty and see how long they last. lol
There is no "normal" difficulty.
Not a biggy on very easy. Even less if half they field is recruits.
On a separate note AI combat in Bannerlord is trash. The base code for the game is outdated. AI will literally let you kite entire armies or stand there and let you shoot them in the face with a bow. After all that hype and waiting and talk about AI i thought we would get something that scaled to 2020. Literally all the AI does is react faster...
You can effectively create your own units by playing with the character file and changing the gear to your preference. This would be a pain to do obviously, but combined with the above it's possible. I have no idea how to mod that kind of thing but I bet some smarty could do it.
Plus, by the time you have your own kingdom, it's the late game, and you are probably already steamrolling your way through Calradia... why not make it even more fun and rewarding to start your own kingdom by adding said custom troop tree?
CTT in Warband did this pretty well, so I don't see a reason as to why it wouldn't be possible for bannerlord (especially since it's supposed to be much more moddable than Warband).
