Can't marry Liena

She said that without the approval of her family she won't marry me. I came to speak with her father, Aldric, but when I say "I would like to propose an alliance between our families through marriage." there is no option except "never mind" when he replies "And whose hand are you offering?". Can anyone help me?

There should be an option at the top of the dialogue, if you've gotten her to talk to the leader of that faction, or whoever they send you to, you should have a specific line that goes 'I want to marry x'

Then this leads into a barter for her (giving a dowry basically).

The 'propose alliance through marriage' is usually to marry off your own kin.

If i remember correctly she says that when you fail persuasion attempt. I believe you will not marry her in that playthrough.

I think they just glanced over your topic, and assumed you had failed your persuasion with Liena in order to get her to marry you.

Another thing to take into account is your own chars. age. If you passed the 38-40 mark *right* after talking to her, you can't marry, since you are no longer considered 'viable'.

When you court a lady you can not afford any persuasion fails. If that happens, you can not retry it. Meaning - you will not marry that woman.
And if I memeber right when you fail it she says that as an excuse to ditch you.

Oh, if you fail any persuasions at all, you can't get them to marry you. There's a mod that edits this. But otherwise you're SOL.

Yup.

Basically there's an 'Age' range. If you're beneath 18 for example, you are in the 'Child' category. 18-40? Is the 'Adult' age. Over 40 and you are an 'Elder', or something. So yeah, I have just looked at the files and haven't tested in-game, but yeah, if they also hit the 40 mark you shouldn't get any options to woo them.
