How do I level up my crossbow skill?

The lowest level crossbow I can find requires 20 skill to use, but I can't get 20 skill unless I'm using a crossbow. Anyone find a workaround? I've gone to the training field but that doesn't seem to level it up.

vlandian practice fights in the arena is what you want to do since they use crossbows there, though as with all practice fights the weapon you spawn with is random and the xp gain is slower than in a normal battle.

yes, theres work arounds.

1. recruit//train an xbow troop. take them into a hideout, or seige, etc. let them die, or beat them up yourself. take the xbow the dropped, and use it.

2. Vlandian troops will sometimes drop an skill 0 "light xbow" as post battle loot. Fight vlandians.

3. Vlandian tournaments sometimes have xbows for use. this will skill it up now.

This is stupid coz a crossbow is easier to use IRL than bow it was the whole point of it lmao.
