Hideouts squad management
Hi guys!

I have an 80 men group full of many high level warriors of both melee and shooters.
When i approach hideout the game always picks just few of them, what is MOST PISSING ME OFF!!!! (sorry) is that against me is sometimes group of 30 well trained and geared archers which brakes my attack without giving me any chance.

What can i do against that? How can i involve all of my squad of 80??????
If this is not possible, the game is not fair, nor realistic. I HAVE 80 FOCKING MEN FOR THE FIGHT!!!!!
Not just 10 ♥♥♥♥♥cats! I want to smash those bastards of and not to be watching how 10 of my people dies just because developers decided that its not good focking game design to allow me to use all my force jesus christ!

No, it's not a bug.

You and a few units or companions are supposed to be "sneaking" into that camp, late at night, to ambush those bandits. The camp is in an area that would make it difficult for a whole army to charge in there and catch the bandits before they could escape.

You can increase the chances a unit is picked to assist you by placing it in a higher spot on your list of units. You could greatly change that by garrisoning troops you don't want picked for this mission as well. It's also likely that if you don't have a very wide selection of different unit types, you will be more likely to be able to count on getting certain units high in the tree since there are less unit types for the engine to pick from.

It's not a bug. It's supposed to be like that.

Sometimes it's good just to get a good mod, Bannerlord Tweaks resolved most of my problems for this moment, devs will probably fix it at some point, so for now it's good just to grab a mod which fixes some of the annoying stuff!

I think it is just a very underdeveloped feature.

There are mods (as mentioned) which allow either your whole troops in or will allow you to just pick the 5-6 troops who will accompany you.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

If true, that is stupid af.

Thankfully the modding community is there to undo really dumb-f dev conceits like that (if it is "as intended).

There are mods you can install that increase the cap of units you can bring to a hideout. The one I have gives me a 90 unit limit.

I just found that its not so bad if you will find out how it works. Even without modding it works now, because i can see how many enemies and which types are in the hideout before i will attack. Based on that i can decide if i want to attack or not.

The second thing is that i found that shooters are defaultly set to hold fire, which is of course good because of sneaking.

And of course sorting members in group can help to prioritize who will be chosen for hideouts attack.
I would just like to have some attack members dialog for every such event, i played M&B1 before years and it wasn't there too.

Nice one...and i mean this totally sincerely...you have managed to show a level of intelligence and understanding that 99 out of 100 others mentioning this issue are unable to.
We don't have to attack them, we can wait till some of the groups leave, if we are careful we can take the camps out, and for those complaining that its an unreasonable feature and abusing the dev's for it...as the highlighted post mentioned...the whole point of the scenario is to sneak in with a small band under cover of night and ambush them...something that simply cannot be done with a large party.

Sure, use mods to allow you to steam roller them..i wont judge that...one of the points of mods is to allow us to play the game the way we want to...i have some saves i have cheated on outrageously myself...yaharrr!
But dont abuse the devs for their descision. Many of us love it...and the challenge it presents, and would be greatly disappointed if they changed it significantly. Having said that, I do think a little rebalancing may be called for when it comes to bandit parties in general...but that will be coming I'm sure :)

Thanks, i would like rather mod for letting me choose my men without any limit.
That way i could use just handfull of sneaky archers in some case and the army of no mercy in another (based on hideout crew)

I agree, i play these games for decades and what i dont like about new games is that they are ballanced for player success.
I want to be challenged, but i need to see the game is realistic/fair enough. I didn't see this here, but now i do. Thats it. It would be just more realistic (+ funny) for me to be able to choose if i want to sneak in with small group or to crush it with army based on situation.

I'll admit, there are times i want to just take an army of top tier cav and cav archers and order em to go for it, hehe :)

Maybe its just not implemented. The spawn priority is the same like in normal battles. And maybe they wont change it.
