There should be some sort of penalty for them though as being ransomed doesnt seem to cause any distress to them. Maybe options to increase ransoms if first offer was to low, especially if you have that factions leader. Maybe an option to strip them of their armour and weapons since they are almost always of the elite type. Or maybe the mechanic shouldnt be that they can escape seemingly on a whim so they are off the battlefield till they end of the war
I've not executed a single lord and I've won many wars. I've not a single clue what you're going on about, to be direct.
But, yeah, better to get the rescue mechanics in for the long term. Makes things more interesting. Just have to be patient. We're in a beta, as everyone's aware.

Eventually I'll kill them in battle (one day) but it's a bit dumb that i can't kill them while they're in my prison.
