Device Error, Keeps Crashing Game
I've looked on many forums and have noticed this isn't a new complaint, TaleWorlds have known about this since at least 2021. The constant crashing I and many others recieve due from 'device error in the gpu' has stopped me from playing this game. The constant unexpected crashing has resulted in me (and many others) from dealing with lost progress/time. I honestly hope TaleWorlds fixes this issue eventually for me to come back.

device error in gpu suggest driver issues or fault with your gpu, hardly the fault of TW:

There isn't. I wouldn't have posted this if I didn't troubleshoot that possibility. Look around some common forums and you'll see yourself.

What mods are have you installed, including any you installed and later deleted or disabled?

If you start google the error you describe you get people who got issues with a wide range of games. Do you suggest TW fault of all these as well?

incorrect. those errors thrown up are indeed game side and TW's tell people to fix their GPUs. i recently had similar issues and there was NOTHING wrong with my GPU.

Totally not related to the subject at hand. your attempting to belittle his explanation as to why the game is causing issues.

Where did I belittle it? I just said it could be driver issues or fault with the gpu of which wouldn't be the fault of TW.

If you have solid proof the fault is due to the game. Make a post on TW's support forum and include logs, sources, whatever that support it.

This issue has plagued me from day one...about 2 months ago.

Vanilla 1.2.9...more than 5 mins?...CRASH!
Vanilla 1.2.8...more than 100 units for each army on the field...CRASH!
Vanilla 1.2.8...Any siege battle (sans the first one of the day)...CRASH!
Play for more than an hour...graphics glitches, screen flakiness, and eventually...you guessed it...CRASH!
Pause the game for more than 2 mins and...CRASH! (*Location irrelevant)

It seems to be a failure to use the GPU code properly for certain GPU manufacturers.(Wink, Wink, nod, nod).
Workload sharing between CPU/GPU seems problematic at best.
Memory leaks are a distinct possibility as several examples have been shown online.

New OS.
Up-to-date drivers
New game.
Un-modded
Top of the line systems and GPU.
Should be able to run 20-30 instances of this game with no problem.

Crash City!

Save a lot, and cut out all the fun stuff, and you could play for a while...even modded.
*This works on 1.2.8 ONLY...in my case.
Still a hot mess.

So what is the "top of the line system"?

What gpu?
What cpu?
What mobo?
Is your ram timing set correctly in bios?
Is your power supply up to the task (working as it should). Would be amazed how many people out there that slot in new graphic cards their power can't handle the load of.

I built this system to be robust.
I have the ability to know if my system is to blame.
When I say that my rig should run 20 instances of this game SIMULTANEOUSLY... I mean it.

My system details will remain private.

My system details will remain private for reason that should be common sense given the incredible job STEAM has done with player protections. *Google THAT!

Given this incredible track record, one has to give thought to the possibility that these problems have nothing to do with your system, the game or STEAM.

Because know what kind of components in your computer put you as such a huge security risk? Really?

Everybody here has a "top of the line system".

At least, that's what they all say.

Well, my current rig is not top of the line, but hey, last time my game crashed was the release version of the game related to a memory leak that since then been fixed.

So clearly his rigg is to good for the game -)

Thank you. If you don't understand software to a basic level, don't just diagree for the sake of it. We all just want a better game after all.
