plz re nerf smithing
its still unbeleivebly broken. you need to make it so weapons created cost WAY more parts and it should take the character 8hrs or so to smelt them. why bother with any other means of financial gain when this still exists??

anyone holding you at gunpoint force you to do smithing?

Nobody forces you to exploit the mechanic. It is not a online Game where you would fall behind or be in a massive disadvantage when not exploiting it. So, the only nerf it needs is you to not exploit it.

I don’t know how old you are, but if you are over 12 you should not need for everything a hand holding you back or decide for you. There is a Thing called self-responsibility. You should try it from time to time. I give this system (self-responsibility) a 10 out of 10 and highly recommend it.

I don't care a fig about prices for smithing, nerf them into the ground for all I care, but don't add more grinding time to that. I have right now a playthrough where I am leveling up a smithing companion to one day actually MAKE better weapons for my character and my companions and it really drags, unlocking the smithing parts alone takes ages and I have curious smith on that companion and curious smelter on another (he melts down the weapons the main smith makes).
The least that mechanic can use is it taking even more time, its bad enough you have to wait, dwiddling your thumbs for the smithing stamina to replenish.

i never sell my smithed weapons and only use them for myself.

maybe thats a solution? (you cant sell your smithed weapons)
you only get gold from smithing orders and have to walk from town to town.
some high skill orders give 100k+ gold...

no mass production or 20k 2h swords or 10k 2h polearms and sell them.
(towns have mostly 50-70k gold... so you cant sell that much weapons atm)

i think this isnt that much important. bannerlord could get other QoL improvements.

i WANT to do smithing,i however want it to be immersive.. not op like this(tiny example of a much bigger problem) :

Polearm - glaive head (1 steel) and the tier IV spear brace/2h pole, which is 1 wood and 1 plain steel, 10k regular but over 20k with perks.

-Wooden spear head =141 denars (1 wood, 1 charcoal) -Bill head = 1-2k denars (1wood, 1 wrought iron) -Glaive = >10k denars (1 wood, 1 steel)

1 steal and 1 wood can be turned into 20K. Anyone who thinks that is ok is insane.

Smithing probably isn't the biggest issue in the game, but "then don't smith" is a workaround, not a solution.

Even without selling smithed weapons, smithing is still a good way to coin denars... a single smithing order can be worth several tenthousand denars after all. And if you want to unlock parts, orders speed things up a good bit, so even if you want to smith just for yourself you want to complete orders.

And the speed of part unlocks is all over the place. Daggers and throwing knives take generations to unlock even tier 2 parts, throwing axes are unlocked just about immediately, and once you unlock a semi-decent swinging head polearms will hit tier 5 very quickly too.

It shouldn't be top-priority imo, but should definitely fixed before the game is released out of early access. Oh, wait. :captainclown:

ye whoever is in charge of quality assurance at TW should be sacked and not work in the gaming industry. its that bad and that much of an oversight

Smithing is fundamentally a waste of time; ingame and IRL. There is no compelling reasons to do an activity, in the game, just for money.

The only thing you ever need to do; is fight battles. Whatever else you do, you (should) do because you get some form of enjoyment out of it.

They should buff other sources of income instead.

not a solution to match those sources of income with smithing since its childs play to make a garaunteed 1 million denars in less than one year from starting a sandbox game at age of 20. Utter garbage.

i postet this 2 years ago... smithing was so bad, it couldnt be a part of full release ?!?

what i mean?
you need billion hours smithing for all dagger parts (or other 1h weapons).
all 2h weapons are much better for fighting and selling for gold and easy to get.

i always "ignore" smithing.
i dont use a single skillpoint for any clan-member and get all 2h polearms and 2h swords,
easy.

Just out of intresst how do you guys have so much time to complain about smithing, i barly have time to try keeping my kingdom from falling apart from others atacking it or to low loyalty, sounds like your not playing the game right, i still have money from fighting lord armees and thats more then i need, to keep my men feed and happy.

playing the game right? well consider this..im playing as a fkn blacksmith, funding my band of anti Aserai militants with the production of weapons...its totally pointless when i could literally buy the entire Aserai kingdom after a few years of smithing...yes i exaggerate but its not far off.

Smithing is a good feature, with so many parts we can create awesome designs, and as a RP factor,it adds depth that this game badly needs, and its another way to make income...but IT DOES NEED TO BE NERFED PROPERLY!

from here on out i only craft free build weapons for use,or discard..no more selling them. orders is seemingly better balanced, while some can give 80k, most dont, and not meeting requirments reduce money paid,im ok with this, but to say smithing doesnt need to be nerfed is just rediculous.

Or you could just have conquered them, several times over, in a fraction of the time...
