Cool looking medieval physics based game; Kinstrife
Idk if mentioning other titles is against forum rules but i am in no way paid or promoted to say this; this game looks cool!

I just saw it and it seems like it will be a medieval combat focused game with squad/army battles, only with heavy emphasis on physics based combat/movement.

No idea if it will be succesful or if it will even release but you lads might like this as well.

Yeah that's why i said i'm not sure if it'll even release at all.
You never really know these days.

That's a pretty terrible commercial for Kinstrife. The edits are so fast you rarely see more than a split second of movement which makes me think the animations are bad. I don't trust any commercials in a PC game which has fast edits.

The animations will surely be "bad" as well as fantastic, it's a physics based game so there's no static animations, check out "Exanima" for something comparable, although this one looks less flaily.

Just watched the commercial on the Examina page. That's a very good commercial. I'm troubled that it's a 2015 game still in early access *Laughs* By the time it's ready for release I suspect the graphics and character meshes will be dated, but they sure know how to make a commercial.

Keeping this in context of the Bannerlord web site, though, I've always liked the commercials for Mount & Blade. They use lengthy gameplay footage which gives a good feel for the game.

This type of game make or break based on performance, Kinstrife is made in Unity, trash engine (struggles with multithreding in 2024 still) more suited to candy crush them massive battle simulator, I highly doubt it will be any good for that purpose.

Ah, they made it with Unity? Yeah, that's an OS designed to work on smart phones. It's not the same genre at all as Bannerlord, then.

Oh wtf that's worrying, why would they go for unity engine in a physics based game lol.

Gameplay somehow looks smooth enough to enjoy but chances are it will never be able to get to a much bigger scale than that due to limitations.

Honestly I find the wording of the shop-page kinda suspicious, its talking about ascend and stuff, but always only in combination with "tournaments", kinda half suggesting you'd become a lord without ever really stating if you can own land or a castle.
Feels a bit like trying to rope ppl in with making it sounds like there was a feature like that without actually saying there is.

This does look interesting, I will be following it. There's another game now in EA that also looks interesting, Voor de Kroon, check it out.

I've been tempted to go for it. I started Mount & Blade in EA years ago and that worked out. Maybe lightning will strike twice. :) OK, pulled the trigger
