Workshop production halted
I have now had two workshops in my game suddenly halt production. Hover tooltip says it's because it's unprofitable. It's a pottery shop in Pen Cannoc. Clay is 12 gold and pottery is 170. How is this unprofitable? How do I restart my workshop?

First check to see if there is another Pottery Shop in the same town, competition really eats into your profits.

If you want to change the type of workshop, in the Clan Menu (L on keyboard), then middle top right button "Other". Pick which workshop you want to change on the left under Workshop tabs, and in the center of the screen beside it's name is a hammer with two arrows circling.

People doesn't work for free you know. You got wages, not just material cost.. Also... most important.... The town consume a certain amount of units every day. If you produce way more than the town consume, price of your pottery tank and become unprofitable to make.

Make your workshop put 25% (or whatever you decide) of the production in storage, rather than dump it all to the market. Then you pick up from storage and sell other places yourself.
