File Read Failed
There was another thread on this, but it was written in bad faith. In any case, my friend and I have reinstalled Bannerlord after ~6 months, and while trying to configure mods, this issue keeps coming up.

Basically, it's a CTD on mod loading with the error message something along the lines of "file read failed; verify your game files". It's not mod-specific. In fact, it's quite confounding: I narrow it down to one mod, launch without issue, then for some reason or anther remove a mod, and get the error again. If that didn't make sense, how about that I stopped getting the error after re-adding three unrelated mods including the mod I thought was causing the issue and launched fine (multiple times to confirm), then had to remove yet another completely unrelated mod, and it's back.

I have zero explanation, but for those still struggling, I do have a workaround: Bannerlord Software Extender (BLSE). It's a launcher replacement available on Nexus that comes with a number of fixes for common Bannerlord or modding issues, and apparently it includes a fix for this issue.

For reference, after installation, you want to use the "*Ex.exe" launcher (full name Bannerlord.BLSE.LauncherEx.exe) rather than the other two; *Ex includes the fixes.

As far as what the actual issue is, I do not know. It's clearly an issue with how the game is loading mods, but whether it's an issue with Bannerlord itself or, like, Harmony/ButterLib/UIExtenderEx/MCM, I can't tell. The application isn't loaded to the point where BEW is handling crashes, so I'm forced to assume it's a Bannerlord issue.

If TW sees this and decides to look into it, here's my summary:
-With a number of mods, the game CTD with "File Read Error" while loading mods.
-CTD instructs user to verify files; all checksums validate correctly.
-Mods are known-good, intercompatible, and have necessary dependencies.
-CTD happens independently of individual mods
-CTD seems dependent on load order/loaded mods but for a pattern I don't understand
-With no other changes, application loads correctly using BLSE (github/BUTR/Bannerlord.BLSE)

I was trying to use mods from Nexus and Steam Workshop together and I kept encountering this error, this fix seems to work for now. Thank you so much.

When I apply your method and go into the game and it switches my adapter to the CPU, but when I switch back and reset I still get this error. One strange thing is that when I click continue in the launcher, my game starts normally without CTD.

Bonus:
When I return by pressing Play, there is no CTD happening, this is clearly an error on TW's side :V
