This is one of the worst games in history to mod.
Once you get a fresh game then pick what version you want set it to that as a beta, get the mods that are compatible and then never tough anything ever again or you will end up right back here again.
Harmony
UIExtenderEx
ButterLib
Mod Configuration Menu v5
Those work with any version of the game as far as I'm aware.
Now you can search by version in steam to see which mods work with which version. I picked v1.1.5 because it has 107 compatible mods and all the mods I like are in that game version.
So then you go into the library, right click on game, manage game and go to betas and then select the (v ersion) you want and set it to that. (the game should update at this point)
Then download the mods that match that version, turn off any auto-update feature and you should be fine.
Assuming you are able to get rid of all the old mods and reinstall a clean version of the game.
Good luck.
The real issue... is that Bannerlord has too many updates.. it's ridiculous some of the modders even gave up and abandoned their mods because after 2 or 3 years of updates they just got tired of it.
The Workshop as I understand it only keeps the most recent mod version. So if you're using a mod and you have your game version locked, and the mod author updates their mod for a newer game version, you're SOL if it no longer works with your game version.
With the Nexus, you're downloading the mod, so even if the mod author updated/removed/hid/deleted the mod from the nexus, you still have your downloaded copy, and it will always be the version you downloaded. If your game version is locked, you never have to worry about update issues. Mods on the nexus also keep an archive of earlier versions, so you can just download the one that works for the game version you're running, provided the mod author made one for it.
Installing most of the mods for this game is super easy. You drop the mod folder in your modules folder and activate it on the in game launcher. As long as you have the required dependencies, you're good to go. Delete the mod from the Modules folder if you don't want it anymore.
Very few people will entertain that Idea.
People need to go to mod re-hab to get them off it.
You have your screaming fits but eventually, you will settle down to playing a boring vanilla version like me... no
I have over 500 hours in this game.. maybe 50 of that was vanilla.. this game absolutely sucks without mods.. I'd never play it without them. It's a joke. If you wanna play the boring ass vanilla game cool.. good for you.. then this isn't the post for you.
This is simply not true. I have made a game and it is v1.1.5 made sure all my mods are compatible with that and most of these mods have been updated since then for newer versions and it's fine. I've never seen them update or mess up my game at all.
You can literally see all the versions it supports on the mod itself.
Ah you mean my point of view is not for you. I like this post and think Ill stay here.
Good luck modding your game
