Bannerlord Crash W/ Mods
Every Time i load a new game or atleast try to My game Crashes and due to the Crash report ive been told that my problem has something to do with SandBox And Storymod Now i know common fixes include a Clean Fix, or reinstall, or verify file integrity but to no avail a new problem arises from the ashes, even resorting to uninstalling all my mods and going one by one and even then that dont work so i am reaching out to the modding community for help.

You will need to do a manual search and remove ALL mods from everywhere including appdata folders..

This is one of the worst games in history to mod.

Once you get a fresh game then pick what version you want set it to that as a beta, get the mods that are compatible and then never tough anything ever again or you will end up right back here again.

Ive only included mods from steam only as im way to scared to use nexus but is that something i should consider and it says a lot of my mods need native or sandbox and Storymode and that they require -1,-1,-1,-1 is their something i should learn about this

You will almost always need:

Harmony
UIExtenderEx
ButterLib
Mod Configuration Menu v5

Those work with any version of the game as far as I'm aware.

Now you can search by version in steam to see which mods work with which version. I picked v1.1.5 because it has 107 compatible mods and all the mods I like are in that game version.

So then you go into the library, right click on game, manage game and go to betas and then select the (v ersion) you want and set it to that. (the game should update at this point)

Then download the mods that match that version, turn off any auto-update feature and you should be fine.

Assuming you are able to get rid of all the old mods and reinstall a clean version of the game.

Good luck.

At this point should i consider nexus

Well I wouldn't be too hasty.. a lot of the modders from nexus brought their mods here and I doubt they are maintaining them on multiple sites. I think you will run into the exact same issue. It's really all about making sure your game is in a version that supports all the mods you want. That is the one and only key. Whether you get the mods from Nexus, Thunderstore or Steam it will all be pretty much the same.

The real issue... is that Bannerlord has too many updates.. it's ridiculous some of the modders even gave up and abandoned their mods because after 2 or 3 years of updates they just got tired of it.

Steam Workshop is terrible for this game, and probably any game that is still receiving updates. I would always recommend the nexus over the workshop, because it gives you more control over your mods.

The Workshop as I understand it only keeps the most recent mod version. So if you're using a mod and you have your game version locked, and the mod author updates their mod for a newer game version, you're SOL if it no longer works with your game version.

With the Nexus, you're downloading the mod, so even if the mod author updated/removed/hid/deleted the mod from the nexus, you still have your downloaded copy, and it will always be the version you downloaded. If your game version is locked, you never have to worry about update issues. Mods on the nexus also keep an archive of earlier versions, so you can just download the one that works for the game version you're running, provided the mod author made one for it.

Installing most of the mods for this game is super easy. You drop the mod folder in your modules folder and activate it on the in game launcher. As long as you have the required dependencies, you're good to go. Delete the mod from the Modules folder if you don't want it anymore.

Or try a play-through without mods.
Very few people will entertain that Idea.

People need to go to mod re-hab to get them off it.

You have your screaming fits but eventually, you will settle down to playing a boring vanilla version like me... no :butter:

This is simply not true. I have made a game and it is v1.1.5 made sure all my mods are compatible with that and most of these mods have been updated since then for newer versions and it's fine. I've never seen them update or mess up my game at all.

You can literally see all the versions it supports on the mod itself.

My knowledge of steam workshop comes from other mod users. So Steam allows multiple versions of the same mod to be accessible?
SPECIALE Jan 1, 2024 @ 12:34pm
No matter what version i play most of my mods require native or such and such, even ui extender, butterlib, and the other one require harmony at 2.2.2 when the one i have (from steam) is 2.3 should i be looking at this
