Wait a few more days - 4-5 at most until most important mods update, there are a lot of good mods on steam workshop here, if you want any that doesnt get accepted by steam rules ( nsfw or any sort) go to nexus mods, either learn how to put the mods in the game files manually or do the auto installation setting of nexus

The easiest way is to use the workshop mods. Here is a thread of mods working with the latest patch 1.28, I'm using most of them with no issues plus a couple others. Search :Working Mod list for 1.2.8"

Always follow the instructions the mod author gives you. If the mod you want to install has dependencies (other mods required for the mod you want to work), make sure those are properly installed.

When mods are created, they are generally for a specific version of the game. If you want to use a mod, make sure it's compatible with the version of the game you are running. Some mods are no longer being updated by the author. Usually mod authors will specify what version of the game the mod is for.

For Bannerlord, turn off auto updates. Once you have the mods you want working on the game version you want, you don't want a game update coming in and potentially messing your game up. You can lock your game version for Bannerlord to whatever version you want.

Steam Library --> Bannerlord --> Properties --> Betas --> Select the game version you want

Using this method, I highly recommend downloading mods from the Nexus instead of using the Steam Workshop. Workshop mods auto update as the mod author makes changes, which will update them in your game. This can lead to instability if some of your mods are updated, but not all. The Nexus keeps archives of all uploads, and it won't auto update your game. I was playing on version 1.0.3 until this most recent update, and I didn't have any version issues because everything I had was locked down.

When you've decided on your mods, test them. Install them one at a time and load up the game. Play around a bit using some of the features the mod alters. If you don't have any crashing issues, do the same thing again with your next mod. This is a very tedious step, but if you just install a bunch of mods at once, you could have instability issues and no way of knowing what's causing the problem.

When you decide to add/change/remove a mod, you may need to start a new game. It's not a guarantee, but it can happen.

Ultimately, using mods is your own risk.
