Another possibility -- You'll need some cash, but try buying all their food every day. I have forced a rebellion in a town by buying up all the food in their market every day. Don't stay in the town because your very presence can boost loyalty and security. Just pop in, buy it all, and leave. When they are starving, Loyalty drops fast.
Yet another possibility -- Join a kingdom as a vassal, then resign from the kingdom. It will ask you if you want to keep your holdings. Say 'No', and the kingdom will take that town off your hands.
And finally -- Create a kingdom, recruit one lord, then abdicate. Leadership of the kingdom will pass to your one vassal clan, then you can resign and give up your holdings. (This one is theoretical, but if you give it a try, let us know how it worked.)
Thanks! I wasn't aware that appointing a governor with the wrong culture would reduce loyalty even further, doing that was enough to finally get a revolt.
