Noble Long Bow on horseback

For ♥♥♥♥'s sake, a bug that cost me half my fortune... Is it true that after 4 years, this bug is still not fixed? I can't use it on horseback, but the item icon doesn't indicate that it can't be used on horseback.

its a longbow, it is not supposed to be usable on horseback until you unlocked the perk that lets you use longbows on horseback.

Yeah. But its list of icons is misleading. Unlike a regular longbow, it doesn't have the "unusable on mount" icon.

I never even looked at the tooltip. I figured since every other longbow is not usable on a mount, the Noble would follow suit.

Well, now you know. Regular Noble Bow is my go to for Archery.

As an unironic IRL archer, i CTFU at the thought of using a longbow on horseback. A longbow is bigger than a man how in the good lord's name could anyone but the silliest of clowns be willing and able to use a longbow on a horse? It's like trying to put a bar fridge on a motorbike

Not a bug, learn to read. When you upgrade archery you can use longbows on horseback not before

i mean it would work for a really good archer, however it would be worse then to just use a shortbow, so just use a shortbow instead (IRL)

What version of the game are you running? I just hopped in mine to check, and Noble Long Bow does indeed have the tooltip that says "Can't be used with Mounts".

Checked this on my companion that has no Riding Perks. Checked on another companion that does have the Riding Perk, and that tooltip is removed for the Noble Long Bow.

The Noble Bow doesn't have this tooltip for either.

Then something reverted, because I'm running an older version and it's fine. Make a post on the TW forums so they can add it back.

I am running current mainline 1.1.6, not beta, and I have never had any mods.

So . . . OP . . . What mods are you running? And what mods have you installed and then either disabled or deleted?

I have no mods, and have never had any mods, and I have the 'No Horses Allowed' icon.

You installed a mod, but it got borked and didn't work, so you gave up.

We are both running 1.1.6. Mine works and yours doesn't.

You probably have mod lint left over from when you tried to install that mod.

Did you completely uninstall the failed mod? I'm guessing not.

You'll probably have to uninstall and re-install the game, and you should also delete your save files in case they have been corrupted.

Do all that and see if the problem persists. And report back here and let us know how it went.

Thanks for the clarification. I'll do that. Uninstall and reinstall isn't a big problem at all.

That is quite old, 3 years old, more modules have been added since that you shouldn't delete.
