How to get mods working?
Hey am new player to Bannerlord. I tried workshop mods but none seemed to work or do anything for me. I had all requirements installed too.

So I unsubscribed all workshop mods and spent time fixing Vortex mods and load order and now the game just crashed!

Is there another working mod organizer?

You might know all of this, and if so, I apologize for the explanation. But if you don't know, you'll need to be very careful of what version of the game you are running vs the version that a mod is designed work with. Right now, I am sticking with the 1.6 build of Bannerlord, and the mod list I was running with that. Many of my favorite mods on Nexus also have versions for 2.1 and higher, but the 1.5 and 1.6 compatible versions are available as well.
It just helps to be careful which version of each mod you pick.

I use Vortex as my loader and it generally works pretty well, but some of its sorting choices are problematic. it is often wise to look at a working load order example (some of the Collections on Nexus have a load order listed) and use that as a guide where a mod description doesn't offer any advice.

I don't use a mod organizer with Bannerlord. Installing them yourself is pretty easy. Nearly all of them just need you to drop the mod folder into the Modules folder in your Steam library, then activate the mod in the Launcher, then start the game.

I prefer downloading from the nexus over the workshop, because the Workshop only has the most recent version. This can lead to instability if your game and your mods are different versions.

Rumor has it that Vortex tends to screw up mods during install, and in addition to that, it doesn't actually sort them for you.

The game has it's own built in mod organizer in the launcher, drag them around, that is the actual load order. Organizing mods in this game is way easier than Skyrim, just drag files into the modules folder, and the launcher keeps track of them.

(The following is more likely your issue though, as it is the #1 cause of most crashes. Either that or mod incompatibility)
Also another thing that is super important in this game is what version the mod is for. Simple armor mods will outright crash your game for simply not being for that version, so make sure the mods you want are for your version, or at least test them first.

Don't use vortex. Vortex tends to screw up mods and that is with every game, so also with bannerlord. Install it manually. Most mods goes into modules, which you find in the installationmap. Also, alot of mods require MCM, so install that first, together with harmony, butterlib and UIextender Ex. Pay attention to the load order though. Harmony on top, then Butterlib, UiExtender Ex and then MCM. All of these load before the game modules. The mods comes then after the game modules, such as kaoses tweaks and detailled character creation.

Thanks guys. I used Vortex to run 1000s of mods on Skyrim and Fallout(s) without trouble before including MCMs. Not sure why it wouldn't work as well with Bannerlord.
