Proposed remedies for fixing Bannerlord Not Starting
If you got the game from Steam, try launching the game directly from the folder located at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\bin\Win64_Shipping_Client\BannerLord.exe
Another solution is to first uninstall any mod that is managed by Vortex in your modules folder:
“Steamlibrary/Steamapps/common/Mount&BladeIIBannerlord/Modules”
If that does not work, head to the modules folder, try removing the XML file called Submodule.xml and run the launcher.
But you did have mods installed, correct?
You probably didn't get them completely deleted.

In a bit of frustration i used the 'reset this pc' tool in windows and had abit of a soft wipe of windows and it removed all apps, i reinstalled steam from fresh and bannerlord from fresh however it still acts the exact same.
I'm really unsure where to go from here, ive not been able to play for months, cannot properly close the game. Its "running" under details on task manager right from windows startup and the process cannot be ended in task manager no matter what i do. Steam doesnt launch on startup either so i have no idea how bannerlord is pursistantly "running" no matter what i do.
Is your problem fixed ?
Also: all other games and OS applications work fine ?
Because that is a major issue. (imho)
anyway:
- Unsubscribe from all mods in workshop
- uninstall the game.
- look for all remaining files of the game and delete them: in documents and in steam.
- Clean your registry; using Ccleaner for instance.
- Restart PC.
- create a file in one of your drives/partitions
- in STEAM install Bannerlord in that file you just created.
- Clean your Registry again.
- Restart PC again
- Start the game and minimize it to windows (windows key) and look for a Firewall pop-up asking for game permission: Give Permission.
Or pay attention if Firewall is present during start procedure.
...
Hope it helps.
