Support, Game wont launch
I tried to launch the game a few weeks ago just to kill a few minutes, the game got to the launcher but then would not actually launch past that, the launcher itself would close as if the game was about to start, however it didnt, but the "launcher" remained in task manager. The game also remained "running" on steam even though it was not, pressing stop on the steam game page would not actually stop this and it would get stuck on "ending" indefinitely. Even ending process on everything Bannerlord related in task manager would not properly close the game on steam, at the time i thought it would just require a pc restart and thought not much of it past that, however for the next few weeks every single time i went on my computer to play something else on steam, Bannerlord would already be 'running' on my account and would act the in same way as above, i can play other games no problem while steam thinks Bannerlord is active but i would actually like to play Bannerlord now with no idea how to get past this. I've uninstalled Bannerlord twice and reinstalled and it has acted in the exact same way each time, i have also tried to launch the game via the exe directly trying to skip the launcher, this also does nothing. I have also verified the game files on steam, which brings back nothing.

Thankyou for any help that is recommended

i dont know if this is up to date , but :

Proposed remedies for fixing Bannerlord Not Starting
If you got the game from Steam, try launching the game directly from the folder located at:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\bin\Win64_Shipping_Client\BannerLord.exe

Another solution is to first uninstall any mod that is managed by Vortex in your modules folder:

“Steamlibrary/Steamapps/common/Mount&BladeIIBannerlord/Modules”

If that does not work, head to the modules folder, try removing the XML file called Submodule.xml and run the launcher.

Sadly non of that seems to help, i had already tried launching the game directly from the steam folders and i also dont have any mods installed as i wiped and reinstalled the game several times in hopes of fixing. Thanks though

But you did have mods installed, correct?

You probably didn't get them completely deleted.

I've had a look at and followed that post which didnt help either.
In a bit of frustration i used the 'reset this pc' tool in windows and had abit of a soft wipe of windows and it removed all apps, i reinstalled steam from fresh and bannerlord from fresh however it still acts the exact same.

I'm really unsure where to go from here, ive not been able to play for months, cannot properly close the game. Its "running" under details on task manager right from windows startup and the process cannot be ended in task manager no matter what i do. Steam doesnt launch on startup either so i have no idea how bannerlord is pursistantly "running" no matter what i do.

Is your problem fixed ?
Also: all other games and OS applications work fine ?
Because that is a major issue. (imho)

anyway:
- Unsubscribe from all mods in workshop
- uninstall the game.
- look for all remaining files of the game and delete them: in documents and in steam.
- Clean your registry; using Ccleaner for instance.
- Restart PC.
- create a file in one of your drives/partitions
- in STEAM install Bannerlord in that file you just created.
- Clean your Registry again.
- Restart PC again
- Start the game and minimize it to windows (windows key) and look for a Firewall pop-up asking for game permission: Give Permission.
Or pay attention if Firewall is present during start procedure.
...

Hope it helps.

This needs to be reported in the Technical Support Forum. This is the General Discussions Forum, and is pretty much reserved for venting, letting off steam, and pretending you know things you really don't. Something this specific may not get resolved there for a couple of weeks (or ever), but if you interact with them at least you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that if you do what they ask you in a timely fashion, their QA time might deign to glance at your issue.
A moderator of this forum has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

The QA team found that the crash is mod-related. Please perform a clean install following the instructions below:
