There is 1.20, but when you download it, it is updated to 1.24. And make sure its a totally clean install so you reduce the possibility of having any issues.

If you genuine interested in what is in the 1.2.x beta. Read the patch notes. Easier than people start list it up for you.
You can't... Once you on the beta branch you on it....
If you want to be have a stable experience with mods, you do not play the beta.. simple as that.

Beta are for testing. You should not use the beta if you cant deal with the issues a beta would have.
