Maybe, just maybe look if they are for the correct game version?
Modders do it for free, so yes, stuff might lag behind or get abandoned.

Or check if they are even compatible with each other.

How can i downgrade the game version?

I think it's:

Game --> Properties --> Betas

There should be a drop down menu that has various game versions. Select the one you want.

Mod descriptions usually specify what version the game is for. If not, you can try to determine based on the date the mod was uploaded/updated with whatever version of the game was out at that time.

I would recommend using the Nexus modsite if you can. They keep previous versions of mods, so you've got a better chance of finding the version you need. I think Steam Workshop only keeps the most recent update. So if your game updates and the mod hasn't, you're going to have instability.

Easy to do .. but long-winded to explain.

Right-click M&B in your Steam library and select properties.

But this game does not like to be modded and will always CTD if you mod it.

Only if you don't RTFM. I've had zero crashing issues with my various mod setups across many playthroughs and a lot of hours of playtime.

what is RTFM?? and how do i get it

Sorry, it's a joke. Not sure if your post is sarcastic, but just in case. :)

RTFM: Read the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Manual. Follow installation instructions, make sure the mod is compatible with your game version, check for conflicts, that kind of thing. Also recommended to read posts made by others to see if they had any issues, and sometimes they even have fixes for them.

The mods are all F'ed up.
You need to make sure you have the correct mod version for your game version.
Then download Notepad++
Then open each mod's folder and open .xml of each mod with Notepad++
Then replace whatever is written in the .xml file like so:
<DependedModules>
<DependedModule Id="Native" DependentVersion="v1.1.6" />
<DependedModule Id="SandBoxCore" DependentVersion="v1.1.6" />
<DependedModule Id="Sandbox" DependentVersion="v1.1.6" />
<DependedModule Id="CustomBattle" DependentVersion="v1.1.6" />
<DependedModule Id="StoryMode" DependentVersion="v1.1.6" />
<DependedModule Id="Bannerlord.MBOptionScreen" DependentVersion="v5.9.1" Optional="true"/>
</DependedModules>
... with your game version. ( ="v(whatever.whatever.whatever) />

If the mod still doesn't work then it's ♥♥♥♥, throw it away.

If some of the "best mods" isn't compatible with the latest version of the game. You roll back the game to a version they are compatible with. You trade bug fixes and improvements of the core game, with what the "best mods" bring to the table. Now enjoy your game.

You can't always have the cake and eat it as well...

Using mods with a game that has embraced them is great.
After modding with say SkyrimSE I can definitely say mount and blade is not easy to Mod.
I am a fan of modding but It's simply too irritating with mount and blade.

This is why you shouldn't Modify the game unless you know what you're doing, If you just add everything in sight it will crash. If you miss dependencies? It will crash, If you do not do proper load order? it will crash, If you do not have proper game version it will crash, If your mods are not on the proper game version? High chance it will crash.

I personally wouldn't recommend trying to mod it till Taleworlds Sods off and leaves the game alone cause they have a nasty habit of needlessly changing lines within the game code and not telling people which then breaks mods completely and wastes mod development time to pathfind what brainfart TW had.

I'm personally waiting another 2 years before i play the game again cause it's the same thing everytime, I start playing they update the game so i update to see what changed it ends up being nothing and i don't feel the need to revert and finish my playthrough.

Just finish the game you've played brainfart multiplayer only gets updates simulator for years now it's time to stop Taleworlds.

Modding requires at least a double digit IQ.

Any clown can make mods for the creation engine though. Creation engine is the evolution of Gamebryo engine used for Fallout 3 and Oblivion. It's getting close to 2 decades old. Clearly shows in like recent Starfield too.

check the versions of both the mods and the game and check when the mod was last updated and then check to make sure the mods work with each other
