I have yet to see any want to join a faction when I'm ruling it. Behind the scenes RNG determines if they join another faction.

Every time I'm destroying a kingdom, requests to join my faction rain down, but I use some mods that implement these small systems, for vanilla I'm not sure

I have never once ever had a clan offering to join my own kingdom. I have seen them join the faction I am a member of though, when Im not the ruler. They obviously want this to be a money sink for the player.

I have never had a lord ask to join. That being said once you get 3-4 tier4 plus clans mixed with a few upgraded companions you're basically the strongest at that point.

usually happens when a lord is kicked or leaves his current kingdom, there is a RNG chance that they will join Your clan/kingdom.. That said i had minor clans join but not a Lord who left their kingdoms YET cause i know my rep etc were a bit low, That said Lords joining you happened more often in warband..

On the beta branch, if you want to recruit clans from a faction that is about to lose their last fief, you need to hurry before they do. You can't recruit any of them once they lost that last fief. After 4 weeks without get a new fief all those clans will implode and vanish. Some of them might join other factions, but afaik never ask to join yours. If any of them join another faction you can try recruit them again though.

This bugs me. I'm all for factions dying out, but I don't understand why the player isn't allowed to recruit homeless clans.

Or at least let those clans function like the merc clans and hire them.
