Horse archers: Delegate command or engage?
If i have a contingency of missile cavalry should I just command the AI to engage? or delegate command to the captain AI? is there pros and cons to either vs the other?

I guess that depends on whether or not you suck at commanding your troops.

Pretty well with frontline infantry and heavy cavalry. Archers i tend to let sit and fire at will. Horse archers is the only type idk what to do with. hence this post.
just make them follow you unless you use rbm, i think even with rbm sometimes they still just yolo charge into snug balls of infantries or just get stuck between trees and die to nearby infantry.

sidenote: if you havent' used rbm, i think horse archers will do a massive circle formation around the enemy just skirmishing the enemy force, pretty cool. unless that's vanilla interaction but i haven't played for a long time.

Don't they usually do that? I remember in warband horse archers default to this, and when i tried joining the Kahnate, Mochung had our bow cavalry do that. i tend to like using javalins and when expended, have the heavy cavalry follow me in a side/rear charge.

na warbands horse archer are as dumb as it was here, if you press f3 they literally charge like they are cavs and then they just run around like headless chickens.

maybe if you delegate command, it'll do the massive circling formation but i haven't played vanilla bannerlord so i don't really know.

Well, as for me, I tend to keep them in the back or to the side and I wait to use them to attack the enemy cavalry, or archers if I have the right opportunity.
