But in-game yes they can be and are mostly are terrible in Bannerlord compared to games that used such formations to great effect such as many Total War instalments. To the point it was easy to replicate their real life effectiveness and seriously turn the tide of battles. I remember doing so with the Empires at War game playing as an Indian faction and decimating enemy cavalry charges. Really cool and fun when you funnel enemy forces in between multiple square formations causing major morale hits. My attempts to use such strategies in Bannelord failed miserbly due to how loose the formations are.
When such formations are tight they should be devastatingly effective. If they're porous such as they are there's not much difference between such a loose formation and well... loose formation except that you assure that a lot more of your men are going to have their backs to the enemy charges lol.
I dont know what this means. But I would break these formations in real life the same way I break them in the game. if it worked well in real life, it just means whoever went up against them and lost was a poor tactician.
Was he the one using these formations or the one breaking them? Or vice versa. Sorry I dont know the history of napolean
The British had the square formations. Napoleon's famous Cuirassiers (cavalry) charged the Brits ELEVEN times and couldnt break their square.
Napoloen, is a very, very, very, very famous French military commander and widely considered a military genius.
Napoleon could not defeate the Infantry Square in this instance.
Ergo, you are super, incredibly wrong, and ill informed on the subject.
Sorry, but I would have broken the brits square formations if it were me commanding napoleans army, The same way I break them in bannerlord. btw, didnt they have guns and cannons back then? Explain to me how some sword + shield square formation beats a cannon.
I already told you I dont know history, but I do know strategy/tactics and you apparently do not.
You could defeat Wellington in battle? Thats amazing.
Are their ANY military geniuses in history that could defeat you?
I sense sarcasm.
It just goes to shows you how ignorant you really are.
Teralitha's military strategies and tactics are studied in War Academies across the world to this day. Long after her many victories. If she says Square Formations never worked against competent Generals then they never worked. Knowing history and how events transpired throughout time is a waste of time in the face of Teralitha's superiority.
I think you owe her an apology honestly. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Actually where are the moderators for this forum? I Throw Spears should likely be permabanned.
Anyone who learns history is doomed to repeat it!
Whatever. Teralitha also won the Battle of Agincourt vs. the English with Tanks.
