If that's a truly "custom" rig and animation, I'd love to see how they got that in there and/or a blurb/post/vid on their development of that.
To be fair, that's good for a horse rig if that's what they're using. If not, I really, really, want to know what they did to overcome the custom-rigging issues. The dragon seems like it could potentially just be using a horse or human rig, but I can't be sure. (I hope it is, 'cause a custom rig/animation should look better than that. And, it's likely a horse rig for the mount position null, but I can't be sure there, either.)
TW stated awhile back that they would not allow any custom rigging or animations to be used for battle scenes. Cutscenes could have them, just not any battle scenes. That disappointed me greatly because it was one of the things that was "promised."
Also pointing out - The limited flight area demonstrates why large flying things are going to be kind of awkward to use in a battle scene - The scenes just aren't big enough for big winged beasties to fly around in.
