Cross dressing
I really do not understand TW's fascination wtih cross dressing in this game. Finally played a game long enough for my first born male heir to reach adulthood and TW gave me the surprise of him being a cross dresser. I feel like the "coming of age" cinematic should have foreshadowed this. Perhaps, we'll get a separate cinematic in future expansions?

...If you've only reached that point once, how do you know it's common enough to be a "fascination"? One case does not a proper sample size make.

Happened to one of my sons as well.

Cross-dressing? Or did he just wear something which looked like a modern day dress? Do you have a screenshot?

In medival times men wore cloths like that, too. (Except differently tailored for obvious reasons.) It was not a pure female attire.

It's a bug not a feature. Similar thing sometimes happens with newly spawned male companions.

Not everything is some woke conspiracy!

...or is it? :D

True. Sometimes people just mistake period clothing as being feminine because of historical ignorance. Like thinking Kings/Noblemen in the colonial era being "girlymen" in portraits because they're wearing high-heeled shoes. Men originally wore such shoes not women.

I think that Vlandian Dress (Corseted or Lady's Dress if I remember correctly?) was the same culprit from months ago someone had on a new companion. Which was Vlandian or Imperial in culture.

My guess like I guessed back then, is that the dress made its way accidentally into the male spawnable clothing list, or something in its item entry within the armour file no longer flags it as female clothing. Basically the game thinks its male clothing and spawns males of that culture type with it randomly.

There are multiple discussion threads on cross dressing in this game already. Those other threads also have screenshots, too. I usually see it only with Vlandian an Khuzait lords when I try to rescue them through a prison break or from local crime boss quest. Based on the already documented cases of cross dressing in these threads, I am calling it a fascination by TW. It is fine if you disagree or not. This is the first time I ever made it 25+ years into a single game. Usually, I quit after reaching a critical mass that no one can stop and it is no longer challenging. I am going to play further to see if they do the same thing with my other sons that have not reached 18 yet.

fairly common bug imo. Saw it a few times months ago during a play through.

It's so obviously a bug. Man you virtue signalers.

I know right? No matter the side, it's always politics first with some people.

Yeah I had to laugh. My first born son finally came to age and they put him in a dress.

Accept them for who they are, not who you want them to be -)

You don't have to wait for a bug. You can go shop for ladies clothes for your entire crew and dress every one in the same dress. And it looks like they all come with the appropriate bosom-enhancing padding.

If they allow cross-dressing, then why not same sex marriages?

TW is probably taking inspiration from history for the cross-dressing thing. Several Roman emperors were famously cross-dressers, and if women can dress like men, why can't men occasionally dress like women ? Wearing a kilt by the way is NOT cross-dressing.

Because it wasn't a thing back in medieval times.. If you want such, go find some mods for it.. -)
