Wasn't there a way to recruit prisoners lords? I'm probably thinking of Warband, but I thought there was a way to recruit prisoners lords.

you must speak with the clan-leader of the clan you want recruit.

(try to recruit clans without fiefs und you need much money)

I recruited a clan recently after capturing their leader, kept him in chain in my party for a while before attempting the persuation.

I've only seen it pop up if I'm the faction leader.

Maybe that's my issue... at this point, this time, in this game... I'm not a faction leader (just a lord).
