Bannerlord does have a optional story but that story is not the main focus and only really exists for people who want a little bit of guidance through the sandbox.
Bannerlord is nothing like that. It may improve over time, but at the moment Bannerlord has lots of cool features with only a few working.
There is NO diplomacy. Broken economy, broken crafting, sad army advancement, basically, if this was a car, it would be a 1970's Lada, used.
looooooooooooool
You haven't suffered much actual Crusades in CK3 have you? Such a well thought out mess that is -)
As guy who played Mount blade and Mount blade 2 with it dlc axe and fire
neoplonic wars I wont gas light you, like those other idiots.
I also played orginal ck2 before its dlcs and after along with ck3 (but none of it dlcs atm because I hate how skimmipy paradox business practices are sometimes.)
Where this game I can see that meets ck3 is with story building and journey.
However Mount and Blade has always had that action/hackn/slash divergent from ck3
You cant really lead armys in game where it boots up map ect. But they're is intricate ability and perk system and family system in game which I could say is and keyword is "tiny bit" similiar but after all that Its completely different grab.
Ck3 I find more rated E firendly and less in your face unlike this game where its not afraid of showing some exuctions, Now ck2 also had mods that did that but thats modded not in base so you can see where it starts to splinter in some degree's.
No,
No,
Yes, but not as much in some elements as in others.
This is primarily a "Battle Fightin'" game and the game is focused on providing that. So, if you like the idea of commanding your troops and fighting alongside them in big Medieval-ike battles, then you're going to want to take a look at this game.
The game proivides the structure to support all that battle-fightin. The Goal of the game is to either rule the world through conquest or help a faction, and its leader (which may change, even becoming the player) to rule the world.
There is a Story Campaign, but it's just pretty lightweight as those things usually go.
"Deep" mechanics are in actual combat, gear to some extent, but especially RPG elements like stats/skills and the like. There's some "depth" to ruling your fiefs and balancing your needs, there, as well as certain sorts of inter/intra -faction interactions.
Watch some Let's Plays and in-depth Review vids/streams and read some long-from articles and guides about the game before making your decision.
The game is basically still in development in all but name only. There are not as many bugs as there are unsatisfying features which some players may not frequently encounter, depending on what they like to do, or could encounter due just to RNG. The game loves to play itself... Lastly, on "warnings," the game is very grindy in the mid/late to end game.
However, no other game/IP can offer you anything near the gameplay experience of fighting battles in a Medieval setting like titles in the Mount&Blade franchise and Bannerlord is the most polished and modern, in that regard. No other games can do that right now. Zero. It's a unique experience and if you decide to not buy Bannerlord, you should consider "Warband" when its on sale and maybe some big polished mods for it.
