Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
How to regain the honor trait after losing the trait?
I got frustrated after not being able to siege a castle and I started killing the leader of the western empire and their successors. After the 3rd killing I think I lost the honor trait but I didn't noticed it after I saved the game. So, did I lost it forever? I'm too lazy to start again. I was planing of being a full rogue on my second gameplay, If I knew better I would have chosen to be bad from the beginning.

You need to raise your honor points to 1000 or above to get the honor trait back. Check the Wiki for which quests are good for raising honor. It's likely to take a while since each execution means a sizeable drop in honor points.
Complete the missions notables give you, most of them will give you points towards the honor trait. Especially the ones where you have the option to screw over the quest giver (rival gang moving in, deliver the herd, the quests that artisans give that make the merchants angry, etc.) as keeping your word in those will definitely give honor. You can also get more honor from the Extortion by Deserters quest by refusing to take the money as a reward, though you will get honor all the same if you do accept the coin.

What do they do? Make a companion say a line that has zero consequence to actual gameplay?

your traits and potential vassel traits come into play during dialogue. depending on how you play and what you say has huge implications. If your Mount and Blade knowledge starts and ends at F1 + F3 then I understand you not comprehending some of the finer points.

Lmao ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Huge implications my ass. There is a reason you can't be specific. Traits don't do jack.

I'm sick of the whiners here too but you all need to stop defending half-assed mechanics. Why do traits not actually affect relations scores? Why do companions even have relations scores when they don't even leave your party? Relations scores don't even carry over to if you decide to make lords out of your companions because relations don't figure into whether you get betrayed or not.

Stop blindly defending ♥♥♥♥ if you want the game to get better.

They are mainly to convince other lords to join your kingdom, which is a HUGE reason.

Ive played the game for years and I cant tell what traits do either. Except for a few like cruel makes them raid villages. Or did they get the cruel trait because they raid villages? Which came first?

I mean, as the player, Im not bound by my traits. I can have the honor trait and still raid a village or break a deal. So i agree, traits have no meaning in this game. Only your actions matter.

I used to think that dueling brigands would get me the honor trait, but ive gotten that trait after doing either option, so it makes no sense.

Traits are important when you are recruting lords from other factions to join you.
Thanks for necroing this. I feel vindicated.

I wouldn't say important, you just need money.

Tbh, you do good in try recruit as many lords as possible that is more aligned towards your own traits, than the opposite. Can lose a lot of standing if you in an army with other clan parties that is lead by cruel people if you are merciful, (or the other way around).
