Simple mod request for pay.
Hello everyone,

Would somebody please make a MOD that uses a normal arrow mesh, like arrow_bl_g, with the size of the arrow increased to about 2x the normal size and have the visibility range of that arrow increased to almost unlimited. I'd like that flying arrow mesh to be the only one visible for every bow/crossbow that fires. I just want to see swarms of arrows fly through the air and not disappear almost instantly.
$50 seem fair?

UPDATE. A nice modder helped me out. It looks awesome. I love it!

Guy was so nice he even refused payment. Took him less than an hour. I insisted on paying him so he suggested I make a charity donation, which I did. Bravo dude.. Awesome.. I hope he uploads it to nexus or something. it looks great!

I wouldn't think it could take much more than an hour to do this so perhaps. You're talking to a guy who spent years modding games like Silent hunter and Arma for free. Just looking for a little help here. I just don't have the time to learn the software right now and I'd really appreciate the help.

You really gonna pay us real money, Mr. Bishop, sir? For sure? Cash money American? And all I gotta do is that tiny little bit of coding that you are far too busy to undertake yourself?

I am thinking that anyone who had no time and wanted it done, and who was willing to fork out $50 an hour, would probably pay $100 an hour, especially when he finds that no real developer will touch it for a flat rate of 50 bucks.

I would think that reaching out to a modder that has done stuff like this might be a way to get your idea heard. Maybe someone that's made some texture mods for this game? Either on here or the nexus.

I'm assuming it's a texture mod.

Honestly I can do part of it myself byutt changing the XML file to only point that specific name. I just need the arrow modded to have infinite visibility and larger size.
Thank you.

32 hours fixing them watermain just so's poor little undeserving kids like me can take a shower? Boy, are we the lucky ones or what. I was just saying to my bestie Bobbie Lee -- 'Bobbie Lee,' I says. 'Bobbie Lee, thank the good lord amighty they is people like Mr. Bishop looking out for us fixing them watermains and giving us good jobs. Good folks like that sure are a premium around here." And Bobbie Lee, he says 'Should be at a premium in heaven, Clovis."

I wouldn't mod this game with a twenty foot pole and a batch of Chinese laborers doing the work for me.

Just ouf ot curiousity.. How much did you get paid per hour?

Last time I needed a plumber to fix a water related issue, I got left with a 1400$ bill...

Also, how do you know where he lives? , as it seems you fixed his shower issues -)

Most modders don't even get paid, and these people are really going to ♥♥♥♥ on you for offering a small job... Just ignore them, they are probably just trolling, and if not, have issues that you should not bother with.

I suggest take Action Man's advice. Kids do not understand how this world works. Money talks, simple as that.
Honestly I think $50 is perfectly fair for what is at most 15 minutes of work.

Accept his offer, if all it take you is 15 mins, should be easy money for you.

I'm no lawyer but there might be legal issues with this job offer. Probably it's too small amount of money for someone to care but you never know.

I honestly have a pretty fair understanding of what it’s going to take. Anyone who knows the tools should be able to do it in like an hour. So basically it’s $50 for one hour of work at most in a game that costs $50 total. Lol.
I spent so much time in my life modding job for people for free, so I really do understand and appreciate the effort they put in.
But thank you Caelesus. I appreciate your kind words and I agree, it’s not worth the time responding to them.

Thank you. I didn’t feel like I was being insulting at all. Every mod I have ever done in my life I gave to people for free. I expected nothing.
Thank you.

Connect to and get to know modders, then ask, in private. Saves being the Chudley in discussions. You are not wrong for asking however the lack of discretion will bring on the trolls.

No legal issue to speak of its a simple request for a mod for a single player game with an offer of compensation. The only possible legal issue that could arise would be if they had a contract and the requester didn't actually pay after receiving the completed product.
You sure? I mean whoever does the modding does not have the legal right to the material they are altering to receive payment. The game is not open source. Doing modding for free and afterwards take donations is one thing but this kind of "contract business" feels like something else. I imagine the developer might have something to say about 3rd party making profits of their product.
I'm not sure I just wanted to raise the question so nobody gets in trouble. Why someone would pay more money for a tiny mod detail than the cost of the entire game I can't understand but that's not for me to judge.
