Best ranged unit vs an Anti-Calvary infantry,,,, Yep!

Thats precisely what shock troops excel at. Falxmen are shock troops. Fians are both the best archers in the game, as well as being shock troops.
30 master archers have to kill 3 enemies each. Simples.
Also Fians are indeed OP, and without friendly fire dmg, they can shoot in small gaps in melee brawl once your melee engages and the enemy lower their shield to fight. gg
I didn't do any research into this game and knew I needed to make an army half of longbows and half cataphracts. Invincible armored horses that keep enemy at bay, distracted, flanks exposed, and in a tight formation while long ranged arrow barrages wipe everything out.
It is kinda OP. I've yet to encounter a drawback. The AI being far from genius tacticians helps. I think they should keep them powerful, but make it exponentially more costly somehow to train/sustain. With how many kills fians get in a typical battle, it feels like all it takes is 3-4 battles against peasants and bandits to get them to top tier. It's odd that top tier cavalry require a resource (war horses), but the top tier archer doesn't. Maybe require a unique lumber?
Falx weapons in game are some of the highest tier swords/polarms, and are almost the best in slot weapons due to high damage, reach/length + shield breaking.
Also as mentioned, spearmen are lackluster. It's just that AI sucks using them and those troops get cut down easily by two-handed weapons, swinging polearms and one-handed weapons.
Battanian Fians are basically the best archer and really the only Battanian unit that shines. The rest of their army is made up of of mostly inferior infantry that make up for it with some more skirmish viability (not really though). Battania has the worst cavalry too (infantry focused, forest loving, tree hugging faction that can't fix up their huts). :p
