Beta 1.22 - Unifying the Empire Issue
I have been playing the game, not as the king, but I chose to give the Dragon Banner to Garios, backing the Western Empire. Currently, the conspiracy meter reads 1050 out of 2000.

Upon capturing all 13 of the 13 required fiefs, the game unexpectedly sprung the conspiracy on us, resulting in declarations of war from three powerful separate nations. Additionally, the other empire clans failed to unite with us, leaving us far from unified. This seems incorrect as the term "Unify" indicates that all three empires should come together as one.

Trying to fight against three big nations with what I have feels too hard and unfair. So, I decided to go back to a saved game I made just after we got the 13th fief but before the conspiracy started.

However, now the game seems to be frozen at 13/13 fiefs, and the quest doesn't validate.

Can anyone clarify if this is a bug or is it the expected game behavior?

Ive never gotten that far in a campaign, but it sounds like unintended behavior.

That's how it works. You have to actually conquer the rest of the Empire. You don't get it for free.

The conspircy score/timer is just a countdown until all out war. It's not something you can win. Defeat the factions that declare war on you when the conspircy timer is up, that is how you win. You as the player loose all agency over how this pans out really when you just decide to support a kingdom rather than start your own.

That makes no sense... Basically, you are saying the Dragon banner is a punishment to the player and has no purpose if you give it to support an empire. I can't believe this is by design, this would be awful.

In the story, it is upposed to be an amazing token of power, and the quest was to unify the Empire; basically all clans merging into a new peaceful new kingdom under the Dragon banner.

If you have to manually conquer everything, PLUS have the whole world turn against you (because, that's basically what the conspiracy is doing in my game, it is 100% *unwinnable*), it's a punishment to prevent you winning the game. Battania is gone in my game, which basically means that 3 nations is almost the whole external world. And of course, peace is impossible is this state, so you are just *dead*.

The conspiracy score was still low (1050 / 2000); it triggered for no reason and I suspect this is a bug because it makes no sense to punish for player for "Unifying" the Empire (which didn't work anyway.)

When you defeat the 3 factions, they supposedly join you.

I've started a new campaign in the beta branch and also went with this option in the main quest. It's a tough war but I think I will win it. The AI of your emperor and the follow vassals aren't much help, honestly.

I basically have win that war on my own.

In my case I sided with the northern empire and after getting to 13 empire cities I got that automatic war dec by battania, vlandia and khuzait. At some point sturgia and the western empire also declared, but they are not subject to the special rules of the big war, so those wars ended after a while.

Not gonna lie, that war is frustrating and also kinda annoying. But I think 'm over the hilltop now. Got Battania to 100% on the win meter and they gave up and vlandia is als at 60/100 and is next pn the chopping block. But the intensity of the war is already much lower now and I think vlandia will be out after a few more sieges and then it will be a simple 1 vs. 1 against khuzait.

I finished that campaign now. The 3 factions can be peaced out separately, so focussing on one after the other is advisable. The 3 vs 1 was rough, but after the first country gave up it became mostly a repetitive grind.

Anyway, after the 3rd faction capitulated, the other 2 empire parts stopped existing and joined my empire.

And the game showed a victory screen and a video (similar to the opening video at the start of the campaign). After the victory i could resume playing. Haven't decided if i continue that map. Maybe for a bit longer.
