All of a sudden I'm a criminal?

I did 2 quests for gang leaders in empire town and all of a sudden now I have a criminal mark. I can't enter Empire towns without sneaking in. What gives?

You had a criminal rating because you did criminal things for gang leaders. What did you expect.

Pay the fine and take the punishment like a big boy, and you can enter the towns without sneaking. (Warning: They might spank.)

This was never a thing before. That's why I'm asking. Previously I was able to do quests for gang leaders with no criminal repercussion. I was just curious if this was a ghost patch or something.

There's new gang stuff in beta. It's probably part of that. Read the patch notes.

I'm sorry. I referred you to the patch notes because I don't play beta, so I don't know all of what is in beta.

I truly did not realize that there was a literacy problem here preventing you from reading them.

You do get a criminal rating every time you take on a criminal task. But it should take more than two before you are targeted. You sure you didn't attack a caravan or take a hostile action against a village?

The only gang leader quest who not give criminal rating if i remember is rival come to town and gang need recruit the 2 other generate criminal rating like gang need weapon or recel stolen merchandise

think the criminal rating has pretty fast decay as i have been marauding with gangs all over and still fine :)

i skipped payment out of ignorance (ignored charges). Now criminal rating is increasing per minute or smthing. How can i remove it?
UPDATE: i left the area of my faction for a while, criminal rating started to decrease and eventually got to 0 (accumulative loses of influence though were huge)
