Multiplayer good enough to get the game alone for that reason?
I love the idea of the game, I am just more of a social gamer and was wondering if the $50 price tag (US here), is worth it if I only played multiplayer ?

there are LOTS of negative posts in forums about MP.

I dont play MP.

but I would caution you to read the MP posts before purchasing, and then make your decision.

Multiplayer is really good fun and gives a great feeling of being in a battle when you play on a server with more than 100 players. Unfortunately, there is only one such server (located in France), run by the Bretonians. So I doubt you will have decent ping to enjoy that.

The multiplayer has issues, it throws everyone off the server after approximately 30 minutes of fun on official servers, so nobody plays on them and most people avoid multiplayer for good. The official game modes like "captain" never worked for me and I would be highly interested to try them out but they seem to be broken, you won´t find anyone playing them.

So it´s definitely not worth the 50$ they ask for.

Buying a single player focused game for the mp part alone doesn't make for a good choice in any game really.

Only reason to play Bannerlord multiplayer at this point is because you hate the Epic Games Store enough that you're unwilling to purchase a game on Steam just because it used to be an EGS timed exclusive, and are willing to suffer through an insufferably bad game just because it's the Steam counterpart to the aforementioned EGS timed exclusive.

It's an unbalanced mess, the development team insists that it should remain as unbalanced as it is, and I seem to be the only sane person in regards to TaleWorlds' intentional imbalancing because most Bannerlord MP players seem to think that Sturgia and Empire being bad and Aserai struggling against armored enemies is perfectly balanced.

The best thing I can say about Bannerlord's multiplayer is that it doesn't have nearly as much archer spam as Warband in current year, though all-archer teams can still render infantry and cavalry unplayable unless you're playing Captain specifically.

The fact that I've seen similar issues with intentional balancing in two other games warrants this rant. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2920841579

No. Multiplayer is a tacked on afterthought in this game, and it was never the intention for it to become popular.

If you're ONLY buying for multiplayer, don't. You won't enjoy it.

To specify, do you mean the multiplayer mod that allows sandbox play but multiplayer, or online battling?

Because there IS no multiplayer campaign without modding, and the multiplayer standard with the game is simply battles against other people.

Wouldn't recommend either one, tbh.
Honestly, I'd recommend Warband for multiplayer

That is wishful thinking at best. No dlc's been talked about or advertised by TW so far.

Multiplayer on official servers is mostly dead due to consistent crashing, bad design on almost all fronts, updates breaking matchmaking, and no willingness to improve, fix, or even acknowledge problems from development. Imo Multiplayer was only promised and provided half baked as a way to ensure Multiplayers from Warband were interested enough to buy into early access. Abandoned mode. I reccomend Chivalry 2

I don't play MP and I believe this to be typical of M&B2 player base.

On a side note for those that been crying about how the game is dying because lack of multiplayer... 24h peak was 29k+ which is trending up. Guess the 1.1 beta patch added fuel to single player -)

Lol, no.

1. MP is dead. Unofficial servers are a way to go. CRPG too.

2. Few people who still play are unbelievable sweats.

Can someone explain to me the appeal of playing a medieval game like a slower and clunkier third person shooter? I know how OP archer spam is, but if you're playing the medieval game like that, why not just play an actual shooter?
