Our Kingdom delcared are on the kusaits, and the Southern Empire was at war with them too, I seen that their army didn't have enough men to attack the army so I waited until they attacked the kusaits and joined the battle it asked me if I wanted to help the southern empire commander and I said yes, with my army we overwhelmed them, and won the battle, but I don't know if I got influnce points for that since at the time the Southern Empire and the kusaits are at war, so it only showed the Southern Empire wining the battle. Why don't use enemies of your enemies as protection for your fief, they have to go through the southern empire control zone to get to my fief in both directions. Another time I helped the my kingdom struggleing to hold the kusait town, both armies thanked me and you get a reputation boost. Even the Southern Empire armies thanked me. I am thinking maybe the relationship with the armies around you are important in the AI decision to declare war on your kingdom. If you come to an aide of a neighboring army that helps boost credibility and good will for you in that location, that the people are less likely to walk to attack a friend in the near future. Remember a true non-emperior kingdom thinks about more than just the enemy around the corner but will use the enemy of the other to booster its defense.
