Report a translation problem
I decided to test it. I rode it from a stop to full speed. With the lightest barding and the heaviest barding, the 75 armor which is 135 weight.
The top speed did not change but it took longer to accelerate up to speed with the heavy barding.
NOTE: I have not tried the test since game was released. But it seems the same. shrugs
NOTE 2: It is easier to speed up when going down hill than uphill also.
