Are Cheap Soldiers an over-compensation?
Although most may disagree for the sake of game-play, but maintaining an army is way too easy now. I noticed that the cost for high level Soldiers went from 52 denars down to only 17 denars now. I do not have any territory yet, but I can maintain an army of ~80 elites and still have 2k+ income. I'm only in the 3rd year of the game.

If this is the attempt to make workshops and caravans more viable, then its not the way to do it. Perhaps increasing consumption rate of the towns, increasing the production rate of villages and volume of workshops will improve their actual use.

However, if this is what you guys intend, then so be it.

keep some low tier shield wall troop might be good choice, since breaking in or out of fight or auto resolve tends to sacrifice them more often.

.
Do you mean that it was 52 denars in Warband? That would be true, however in Warband you payed wages on a weekly basis whereas in Bannerlord you pay them on a daily basis.

No, I may not have the exact number memorized since its been a while since I played again, but it was more than just 17 denars if I remember correctly. Maybe I'm just crazy, but I do not remember being able to field this raiding party of elites with a large income before owning a town/ castle.

Who knows, maybe I'm just remembering incorrectly, but its definitely too easy.

One factor in play might be that many perks used to not function at all during early months of early access.

It does get a bit costly, when you have to also supply garrisons with troops(that you have to pay for), additional armies for your clan(that you have to pay for) and a large army for yourself(300+).

Nothing that you as the player cant handle of course, but it is not that uncommon to run at a slight negative income, especially if you also have to pay off a few wars(meaning you are paying a daily tribute) to focus on only 1-2 enemies at a time.

Got army about 380 troops 5-6 lvl units. Cost 5000 per day, also garrison in town for 5000 a day. So Not to cheap.

Yeah, I remember constantly being in the negative. I guess with perks actually working now, and me advancing too fast with my economy this time around may have caused this misconception. Not owning any territory by 3rd year may also attribute.

I just never noticed how cheap the Soldiers were, and that itself may be the reason of some issues people find, such as Elites being too easy to field, quantity over quality, etc.
