Does anyone ever attack caravans/villages?
Am i the only one who feels like be it M&B1, Warband or bannerlord that attacking a caravan or village is not even really an option? The penalties you get from that make it that it really isnt even a feature for the player, just for the AI that has zero consequences doing it.

Or does someone here actually attack them and think it is worth it?

Caravans absolutely, villages perhaps more rarely.

In my current playthrough I started out as an ally for Battanians and currently am independent kingdom taking over for the Sturgians.

While a vassal of the Battanians, I would attack caravans of any non-Sturgian Battania was at war with, mostly Vlandians. Some nice loot and cash to be had for a relatively easy fight.

The tough part is catching them.

As for villages, again if they don't belong to people I intend to rule over later, I might raid them while the main force was besieging a town, then once it looks like they started their assault, I'd go over and join.

I don't think it's ever *really* worth it to raid villages though.

when playing as a good guy, no not worth it as much, but still possible while at war

when playing as a bad guy, yes completely worth it

If you are playing as a conquering Savage like my character and you execute all your enemies anyway, then villages and caravans are no big deal

the only reason it's no longer worth it, is because there are bigger targets to go after, such as enemy parties, castles and Towns, so now don't bother with caravans or villages anymore, they are no longer a priority

also the put off is that if you want that area for yourself you don't want to have bad relations

so you want to do it in areas where you won't be taking for yourself

No clue how I would even attack a Caravan with my 1.2 Speed Army lol

I do if I play the khuzait

Considering how impossible it is to get character traits, be it good or bad, i rather not attack any civilians so I can keep the boosts in my dialogues.
Caravans are good targets as a merc, you get 30 influence or so for a really quick battle

I use forced recruitment to get khuzait noble troops early game, if you're at war it doesn't her you notable relations. You also don't have to wait on the map to do it and you get some loot from fighting the militias. I never raid and only rarely hit a caravan.

I attack villages all the time if we're at war.

I consider caravans fair game but I *never* attack villages. Life as a peasant in Bannerlord is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ enough as it is without me making it worse.

I think caravans are fairly worth it but villages are a no go. Too much penalty and they are usually good source of recruitment troops. Personally, I was hoping that Bannerlord would improve upon Warband with regards to the bad guy gameplay but it looks like it really doesn't.

Even executing lords looks like a bad deal because you get penalties with so many clans. Sometimes the offended clans don't even belong to the faction of the person you murdered. Heavy relationship penalties would have been fine if only it was only limited to the faction of the murdered person.

shouldn't even bother the entire faction either

in reality only some, not all, some friends and family would really be bothered who were close or have political interests to use that as a catalyst

especially considering this happened during war time, which is expected when on a losing side of battle

how would they know if it was execution or a death in battle? Player should be able to disguise the death as a battle death to maintain relations, and simply act as if it just happened during the battle, since chances are they would have died in the battle with his men anyway, if I was going to execute them after the battle I wouldn't try to capture them, especially if I am not interested in a ransom.

The entire system right now is a joke and hasn't improved from warband, the entire world is still magically connected with social media smart phones sharing everything with everyone, probably got drones over head monitoring everything too

On the other hand, George Floyd dying set off riots in Australia, where people don't even have an idea of what the inside of american cities are like, so...
People be weird about relationships.

What is the downside of attacking villages exactly? Opinion penalty? Who cares lol, the villages I force to give me recruits and the lords don't matter anyway there will be others that will serve.
Legiondorf Nov 3, 2022 @ 4:49am
My biggest gripe with Bannerlord is I can't intimidate peasants from Lev 1 like in Warband or knick cattle for beefy sales! Unpopular opinion but tormenting villages on the route path between towns (not all villages) was one of the best starts in Warband and a nice routine to work towards your enterprises...

I tried it in Bannerlord and had to reroll realising I will just go broke trying to raise intimidation through party size without wardec. I guess a good start in Bannerlord is town to town tournaments, actual trade and working up to be a caravan escort which is pretty fat stacks with the raid spawns. Little disappointing I can't be a d*** I mean the whole point of the game is you start as a little s*** given lordly status.

I don't when I'm just roaming around, but you can bet I went after those Vlandian villages when Sturgia offered me 15k to raid them.
