How to disable mods...

I'm guessing that 'TW' mods aren't actually mods because I can't disable them like other mods by unchecking a box, is that right? Every time I try to start a new campaign 'Achievements are disabled' pops up..

Delete them from system manually, It detects them even when de-activated sadly.
Unsubbing alone doesn't fix issue. Just another example of incompetence by TW.

I either have a mod not on the mod list that lets me recruit any unit I want from the world map, or have something enabled that lets me do it. No idea where to find it to remove it or disable it. Its not in my modules folder

You mean opening your party screen on the main map shows every soldier that can be recruited at no cost? All the inventory items available as well? Not a mod, cheat mode is active.

Does the "cheat mode" disable achievements? I might have that enabled but I haven't played the game for over a year so I don't remember how to disable it

I'm guessing cheats will affect achievements.

Open the cheat menu with ALT + Tilde (Tilde is the key left of 1 and in between ESC and TAB. Type config.cheatmenu 0 to deactivate.

That did it. No idea why that would carry over to ALL *NEW* campaigns, but thanks !
