Max level/Skill
Just wondering if anyone knows the max level or skill cap? I feel like I messed up my character putting focus points in to weapon skills, not realizing what this game truly has to offer. Does your character eventually hit a wall? Or is it possible to max out everything?

if i recall 330 but you need 5 focus and 10 attribute. There is a chart that breaks it down on reddit dont have the link handy. Max level i dont think there is one but i dont know how high the average level by end game. In the early beta's i heard people mention after level 25 or 26 it gets harder to level up so i use that as a baseline for my build. Since i do not know what level i will actually get.

Damn, I might have to make a new character. I don't see the point in having a weapon skill up so high for me personally. Maybe my companions... I wreck more ♥♥♥♥ with my 2h weapon stuck at level 20 then I do with my 1h weapon thats almost 200. Plus this game is starting to feel less and less like an action combat simulator.

For weapons i believe most people don't bother leveling the attributes past 2-3 unless ur doing mainly a archer build not 100% sure on the going past 2-3 on archer builds but pretty sure.

does that free up room to level up other skills? I did that and it just allowed me to reallocate the perks.

The arena master only allows to change what perks you pick though? I was hoping for a full respec like focus points =(

if you build your toon around END stat you may hit 38-40lvl and get most useful skils at 200-250+

What skills are the most valuable to invest in? I saw a guide saying you should focus on Intelligence and Social, kind of makes having a healer useless no?

I find the two most important attributes are Endurance and Social. Not everyone agrees but INT is the only one that can be easily replaced by companions, Steward, Medicine, and Engineer. Saves a lot of points. Social for Charm and Leadership is important later game and, of course, Trade if you want that. Endurance for Riding, Athletics, and Smithing. Athletics and smithing in particular. Athletics for 2 free Attribute points and tons of extra health at high levels, in addition to running speed. Endurance for 2 free Attribute points plus all the money you'll ever need from custom orders, 80-110K a pop at 275 smithing.

naaaah im still on the medicine always myself side, that extra near 50% HP boost for troops is only active if you get the skill yourself. but i dont go over 7 attr

I'd say going Int and social vs endurance and weapons comes down to personal preference and playstyle.
Warrior builds that can wreck towns solo or commander builds that can have party sizes of 500 warriors with 150 hp.

There isn't a hard character level cap you will ever have to worry about hitting.

Everything you do, whether it is moving around the map, hitting a guy with a sword, gaining relation with a noble, or recruiting a unit, gains a certain amount of base experience. This base experience amount varies based on what you do, with certain actitivites, like breaking a noble out of prison, earning hundreds of times more base experience than other activities, like spotting a track.

This base experience amount is then applied to both your character level and the appropriate skills for the activity. Your character level always receives the base experience amount, while the skill receives the base amount multiplied by the learning rate. If the learning rate is 5.00, you earn 5 times the base experience amount. If it is 0.00, you earn no experience for that skill.

So, even if your charm skill is effectively capped by your learning rate, you can still earn character experience for charm related activities. You may think this means that you can level forever, but the experience needed for each character level increases to the point that you are looking at years between individual levels once you reach the high 30s and low 40s. Playing the game as intended, your character is likely to die with a level range between 45 and 55. For this reason, I tend to plan builds around level 40, with anything beyond that a bonus.

I have read at various times that there is an actual hard level cap of 63, but given the changes made to leveling during EA development, I couldn't tell you if that number is still applicable, but I can tell you it isn't one you will ever need to worry about.

okay this gives me some reassurance on my character as i do have some decent points where i want them. Maybe I will just stick with it and see where it takes me.
