It's not BS, smithing is ridiculously easy to level.

i learned crafting random parts and buying higher level swords and breaking them helps

BS as in Blacksmithing? That's not even the point. Still not sure how to get a tier 6 sword, I got all the tier 5 parts.

You mean that if we smelt the weapons that we have in inventory, we learn new materials to craft for weapons, and what I mean with materials, I mean new blades, new handles etc?

Yeah, that's how you're supposed to get new parts. Primarily through smelting though you can learn some from crafting too.

Smith xp goes up a lot more for smelting too.

Tier 6 does not mean you need Tier 6 parts. Its just a denominator for overall stats of the weapon. Slam together Tier 5 parts and you will get Tier 6 weapon.

I have been making tier 6 2H swords and 2h polearms from T4 parts, but just to make sure, I just now made half a dozen T6 2H swords, and I did not get the achievement. Looks like it is fubar.

Maybe they mean 1H swords. Anyone have the parts to check this? I don't because I never make 1H swords.

I wouldn't overthink it. Several achievements seem broken right now.

I have, but the crafted 1H tier 6 sword doesn't check the achievement either. Is your achievement swordbearer progress at 5/6 like me?

Best way to unlock parts is to smelt down the weapons you forge yourself. And everytime you learn new parts you add them to your designs and keep forge better and better weapons to smelt down.

Some weapons is hard to gain parts for with initial smelting. Such as maces, (2h)axes and some others.. Buy higher tier units of these on the market to smelt down. And make sure the character that smelt them down got the perk that increase chance of learning while do so.
