Yes and the developers clearly do not want to reward people who mod it, why? Because mods go as far as to make you a god, make you do 9999 damage with every swing, make you nuke a map etc. They want you to earn it, which you don't do with mods. "I don't use." it doesn't matter, if it isn't base, it isn't achievement worthy to the development team.
So, if you're going to cheat, cheat the way you like, but trying to persuade people to do the same is kinda stupid.
"I don't use."
so what is your problem then you can leave the thread as it is. if someone wants to open all achivements they dont need to nuke the map or deal 9999 damage with every swing. They can just download a program to open all achivements.
To clarify that your nonsence argument again. In warband you can gain achivements with mods.
Ever heard of mods that make games harder? I can't speak for others but I try to make the base game more difficult whenever I come across a moddable game. I guess I'm "cheating" too then.
The developer's can't police what one mod does over another, so anything that modifies the base game is essentially cheating. Yes, you can even cheat in more difficulty, but it is still cheating. A game of chess played with a 5 second timer that shocks the player if they didn't make a move is obviously harder, but it won't ever be considered an official match by any standard.
The textbook definition of cheating is "obtaining an unfair advantage". Modding a game to become more difficult doesn't constitute cheating.
What you're referring to is "purism", ie. playing a game the way the developers intended it, which is something different.
So if I use the mod to use a cheat mod does that count?
Those mods should get a pass cause if you goof once 50/50 your run is over.
