that sounds like one of the coolest things I've ever heard added to bannerlord lol.. Hope it's true (Pro tip: as has been said IT WAS NOT in game, prior to 1.8. if it is in now, this is first I've heard of it)
The player character being executed while shopping in town ending that characters game after maybe many hours building skills is cool?
What is happening in this game?
I think it's the being executed at all part that's supposed to be cool, not the ghost execution. Though wow, wonder what could even cause that to fire.
It is the olden times after all. Where superstition wasn't called that, but folklore, because it is.
You thought it was weird at the time.
Few days later while shopping.
Correct.
Ghost execution??? sounds like a bug.
BUT normal execution. AWESOME..... and here's why
1- You can EASILY have 70+ heirs... I have.. In fact, I did some simple math, and figured I could have 300 heirs and STILL have my main character alive.... You could maybe have 900 heirs,, OR MORE... if you live to 89... like garios does sometimes... Yeah 900 heirs.. (probably more). But 70+ is suuuuuuuuuuuuper easy.
2- Prior to "being executable". (which I can't confirm is in game or not.. but IF IT IS, I think is good)... You can not lose. Literally. YOU CAN NOT LOSE.. Yeah. Literal... not figurative. Basically you never die except old age.. so you could be captured 50 times, lose everything.. and just keep going (albeit higher strength of character) after u escape. Kind of like Kenshi where sometimes it is BENEFICIAL to be captured and enslaved... Bannerlord shouldn't be that way In my mind.. but it is. YOU CAN NOT LOSE. Worst case scenario you die of old age. and pass the torch to one of your 70 heirs.
3- Again, the heirs. Sometimes I am bored of my main character. There is no way to kill him (Maybe console commands, I never tried). So all those 70 heirs??? just baggage. I usually use a few as companions, a few as governors, a few as smithing bots if I smith... and that's about it. The other 60 get parked in Towns to relax. But if I COULD kill myself.... say year 20? 30? and then pick an heir, and start again.. could be fun.
As to "many many hours building skills". Yeah, in the beginning it seems like that "is a big deal". Oh my lord, I'm in to this campaign 20 hours.. and now there is a new patch??? ugh. Or "oh my lord I spend 40 hours on this MC and now he is super powerful... I hope he never dies".
but after you've done 10? 20? 100 campaigns, they all look the same end game. It's the beginning 20 hours that are the fun and challenging part. After that it's all about scamming the AI to get them to peace or to war... when u want. And how to get enough influence to pull off those scams.. THAT'S late game. Sadly.
so... having to start over (which you wouldnt have to.. EVEN IF EXECUTED) sounds not too bad... Even better you could Mitigate it. just release everyone. I tend to have 50+ relations with everyone.. I mean EVERYONE.. and most people I have relation 90+.
so to have a -30 relation???? that's something you gotta work at.. And there SHOULD be a chance for you to A- lose game, or B- Pass kingdom to an heir or C- have repercussions for your evil actions.
Yep.. I think this is a super cool addition. (if it is in fact in game ).
