I agree with you in a way, though, but the solution to 'half baked' is simply price.
Slash the sales prices and you'll be approaching a better bang for buck solution.
I realize Bannerlord already has that ratio, kind of, but...until release it's not sure if that's its true strength or just all the Warband / Franchise fans having pounced on it.
I'll wait and see what they say after.
Amen
Well, I simply subscribe to showing up the devs in such cases.
Make the best possible mod, with a team, and name it 'Şerefsiz' or something.
(one of the worst things you can call a Turk)
Why? Cause that will at least be a service to all the customers who feel like they didn't get enough game, but already bought it.
Furthermore, I don't think Bannerlord is as prominent as something like a Sonic movie, where the uproar actually did something.
Further, furthermore:
They're not mutually exclusive approaches.
The devs of DayZ did the same exact thing, they released version "1.0" but it was just another step in the endless development cycle... actually, they removed a ton of content before releasing the "1.0" version to consoles which blew my mind. 1.0 was just a slightly better looking version of 0.62, minus a bunch of content and with a bunch of dumb changes to things NOBODY wanted to be changed - instead of fixing cars (which had been a problem for years) they just completely removed cars from 1.0, then re did all the crafting mechanics from a single 'click', to tedious click and hold. Dumb crap like that. Reminds me so much of Bannerlord.
But they added modding, which basically disguised the fact they still havent finished the game.
It isn't a bad thing, I'll buy it eventually when it's like 90% off (like it did with previous M&B games), just don't really see what's worth paying so much money for.
Even their trailers show nothing but combat, which was already part of M&B and was fine. The biggest issue was the barren, lifeless world with garbage writing and NPC's, which hasn't really changed at all.
Since fanboys keep buying and rating it "VERY HIGH" on Steam, they'll move on to consoles and keep the game the way it is, probably planning DLC's in the future like Stardock.
The 4 developers they hired never played MB themselves, instead it was just described to them by the fans and the developers just did their best.
They paid the developers almost entirely upfront, so they pretty much stopped working on the game about 6 months into the project, so every once in a while when they get enough donations they go hire another developer off fiver who allegedly works on the project for a bit, but usually ends up breaking what the last guy fixed.
The fans running the project only post news & updates whenever theyre not playing Team Fortress or Elden Ring, so information can be spotty.
